I do not advice trying to install XPMSE manually. Actually, I do not recommend installing any mods manually. XPMSE uses FOMOD installer and was built to be installed through that.

XPMSE simply MUST win all conflicts against all other mod resources in your game. If you ever install any mod that overwrites files from it, then you will have to reinstall XPMSE as well. Fully.

Use a mod manager. If you are used to install mods manually, then use Mod Organizer. It installs all mods to individual mod folders under it's own installation. Resource priorities are managed by setting the order from left panel, so you do not need to reinstall mods to sort it out, as you would need to do with manual installation or NMM.

In any case, I have no idea how Groovtama has arranged skeleton options, due to XPMSE being FOMOD installer mod. Giving any instructions how to do what you ask should come from Groovtama himself. I think we both know what his answer would be.

k than i ♥♥♥♥♥♥ my self. I have installed about 11 mods fully manual most without tutorial and they all work fine i'd guess i am gonna have to use a mod manager for this one.

I have been modding games since 1998. Most of it was done manually. Some of those games have now gained mod managers of their own, but I am too comfortable with manual modding to use them.

However, Bethesda games really should be modded with managers. While most mods come with ESP+BSA files, not all of them do. Some of them do not use ESP files at all and several are only distributed as loose files.

Latter can be a real problem. Loose files will automatically win all conflicts in manual modding. Resource files may use same names, but not include the same information.

This is mostly obvious for mesh and texture replacement mods, if mod author has added the order of installation. Look Static Mesh Improvement Mod as an example.

However, it is far more complex for scripts, animations and custom skeleton (like XPMSE) files. Your load order (recommended to be sorted by LOOT) determines which ESP files are taking the effect and resources should load according to that. Adding a new mod, or updating a mod, would require going through all resources from related mods (if you are aware of which they are) manually.

Mod Organizer shows exactly against which mod folders and files different mods are winning or loosing conflicts. Thus I recommend that for players, who are used to mod their games manually. Others may wish to start with the default modding tool Nexus Mod Manager.
