How to find official patch?
I wanted to add Unofficial Skyrim Legendary Edition Patch and it says that its requirements is among others Official Skyrim patch 1.9.32.0.8 or greater. I found info about that patch on various sites but how do I get it on steam? Or maybe is it included within the game?

I also saw on screens that I should have order:

Skyrim.esm
Update.esm
Dawnguard.esm
Hearthfires.esm
Dragonborn.esm
Unofficial Skyrim Legendary Edition Patch.esp

The thing is, I don't have skyrim.esm or update.esm on my data list... I suspect that Update.esm is the official patch I'm looking for.

Probably those information is outdated and I suspect that the new version hides Skyrim.esm and possible patch from the list,l but that's just a wild guess.
Can someone fill me in?
Thanks

Verify integrity of cache? If those are missing the game wouldn't even launch. When you installed skyrim it should have downloaded everything it needs.

Only reason why you wouldn't be up to date is if you are using a pirated version.

Update.esm is the official update - auto downloaded and installed whenever you install Skyrim. Also, Skyrim.esm and Update.esm do not show up on your data list - they are the game - without them, there is no game.

This, obviously, you found - Unofficial Skyrim Legendary Edition Patch by Unofficial Patch Project Team -

On Nexus:

Ok, thanks for confirmation.

I'm new to steam so I'm not sure how to use this patch in steam. I found it only on nexusmod page and already downloaded. I can unpack and put it manually to a proper folder but I want to try out how it works when I do it on steam.

I clicked the link you gave me and it's only let me subscribe or add to my collection, whatever that means. How do I install it within steam?

The subscribe button downloads and installs it. I reccomend you take a look at the pinned thread "Player Spreadsheet" to get a taste of how to install Nexus mods. It's a lot of info, but it's worth it.

I clicked on subscribe, it says it is subscribed but I don't see any change in the game. Is that normal? There is no additional file to activate on data list.

Thanks for the tip, will read that thread.

Follow Fairo the Great's recommendation re: reading "player spreadsheet". That's the best advice that anyone can give you - that and to read everything on a mod's page before installing a mod - and I do mean EVERYTHING. If in doubt about a mod, do not install. Ask in this forum if you have any questions - there are always people ready to help out. Welcome to steam and Skyrim!

Since I never finished Skyrim in vanilla state I rather stay out of most mods other then patches and maybe better vampires. It's better to know vanilla game well and only later increase the pleasure by using mods (as I found out on Morrowind, which is the best for me so far) :).
Thanks for help, will keep reading before starting a new game.

Seems like you have a good handle on things! Good luck - and like I said, we're here if you need anything.

Been reading all those recommended threads. I love the idea of the workshop and easy install (subscrinbe) but at the same time I learned about the issues it can have so I'm not sure if I should use it. Also when I subscribed to the USLEEP patch, I don't see any new files in my game folder, nor file in data list so I can't be sure if subsription really worked. That's a bit discouraging. I have only info on a page that it is subsribed but...

At the moment I just need this unofficial patch and maybe I will activate better vampires mod later, so there should be no imminent danger of braking things, still It bugs me that I can't really tell if the subsribed patch is really working...

The workshop is very bugged, and it is not recoommeded for use. Nexus is the almost universal site for mods and is highly recoommended (though you will need a mod manager - as covered in the Player Spreadsheet, I believe). It is definitely not recommended to do manual installs (though some people do - but they are usually experienced at it and know the potential risks).

Not sure if mod manager will work for me, because I'm running linux so manual mod install may be the only way for me. However I was used to it during Morrowind times so there should be no problems.

Anyway, thanks. I will unsubscribe patch aand add it manually then.
