any ideas on how i should go about fixing this?

btw i have quite a lot of mods just so you know but the textures for dragons havent been like this ever

usual this kind of thing happened to me when my Skyrim was out of memory or close to memory leak on my old PC

maybe you have too many texture mods installed?

ill try removing and reinstalling several texture mods and report back to you with the results

think im gonna just delete skyrim and all of my mods and start a new install because its taking way too long to go through each graphic mod and file to find the cause. Its a lot easier waiting 1-2 hours doing a fresh install than waiting hours on hours trying to fix something :/

I am not sure if that is caused by the same problem that occasional occurs with the LOD for the dragon or something else, but you can try using this mod and see if it helps resolve the problem.
