Dark Brotherhood wont kidnap me?

I've already kiled Grelod, talked to Aventus, and gotten the "We Know" letter. Its been more than a week in-game, and they still havent kidnapped me no matter how much I sleep. Any help?

Go straight to the shack in the marsh.

If you've already discovered the shack and killed Astrid, you won't be kidnapped and taken to the shack. Your next move should be "tell a guard." It doesn't even matter if you address Grelod, as the "new management" letters will still go out. Apparently she slips on a banana peel, after you kill Astrid, anyway.

I didn't kill Astrid. I've been waiting on her to kidnap me, so I can join the Brotherhood. I haven't even met her yet

Try sleeping in different areas if you haven't. I usually use the tent near the mill next to Windhelm, but Windhelm itself won't work.

If that doesn't work try reloading an earlier save to before killing Grelka or before talking to the boy to complete the quest.

I already have. I've tried sleeping in the houses I own, a house from a mod, a bed roll, 3 inns, and on a stone bed. None have worked

Let me be a little bit more clear: I understand I have to sleep to be kidnapped. But every time I do sleep, I'm never kidnapped. And I've never heard of any other players having to wait this long in order to be able to join

Here's a list of console commands. Scroll down to setstage. It will show you the format and give you a link to a list of quests, so you can find the appropriate stage. Click the list, go to the quest-in-question's page, and then the stages and quest ID are at the bottom.

I believe what you need is

setstage db02 10

but double check me with the list, please. Also, before doing anything with console, save, save, save. Just in case.

"Open the console and type setstage db02 10 to start the quest. Next, enter the command player.moveto 1BDE8. You will be transported inside the shack and the quest should proceed normally."

Load Back before you did the quest and do it again or get a mod that lets you skip to the shack
