Skyrim Random Freezing (SOLVED)

Hello. Recently I have been figuring out the Nexus Mod Manager, but the result is that my character freezes quite often when travelling through the overworld. I have had this happen before (and have went through my mods), but the sheer amount of plugins now means this could take well over a day. I do not have the time nor patience to sift through and disable each mod one after another and test by playing for 15 minutes per mod

My specs are as follows.

Windows 7 Professional - 64 bit
Nvidia Geforce 760
16GB RAM
Intel i5 4590k

SOLUTION

Uninstall Open Cities + Immersive Citizens and their patches

Install 7Zip + LOOT + TESV Edit

Extract whichever is required via right click

Open LOOT
Click "Sort Plugins", it's the three lines along the top

Wait for it to finish.

Open TESV Edit

You will more than likely have to restart your save if you have been using Open Cities, as it overwrites the actual city worlds and replaces them with its own. Basically it's a mod that screws up your save file. Not the worst thing in the world, but still annoying, unless you have more than 10 hours into the game.

If you feel you've run it, do it again. Top right, hit the 3 uneven bars, then hit apply when it finishes. I'm not sure of everything that's off about that load order. Maybe Hitokiri-X will stop by this thread and lay it all out for you but...

Alternate Start - Live Another Life is way too high, it needs to be near the bottom if not THE bottom.

You have extensions for ELFX coming before EnchancedLightsandFX.esp itself, which is the master for those files.

You have the HighResDLC and not the Unofficial Patch for it.

You have the extensions for UFO coming before UFO - Ultimate Follower Overhaul.esp.

That brawl-bug plugin seems like an outdated one. Look for "Modern Brawl Bug fix"

I believe the reason Alternate Start is so high is because it was one of my earlier mods. Should I add that the HighRes Expansion is not activated? I had a strange lag issue when using it if I remember correctly.

Edit: It was activated, but I had deactivated it before. Strange.

What mod manager are you using? If you're using MO, then leaving it inactive is fine, MO will handle it, still need the unofficial patch though. Otherwise I'm not quite sure. I don't know how NMM handles that kind of thing. If you're unsure, leave them inactive for now.

Try a new game without Open Cities.

Open Cities has been a bit of an issue for me in the past, I will uninstall it when I come around to it.

Overall, no overworld freezes, just the rare infinite loading screens, then again, it does like to do that, even on my PS3 version.

Edit: I cannot uninstall it. Damn mod causes a CTD on the Main menu without it.

You have to go back to a save from before you installed Open Cities.

It crashes before I can choose a save.

I have heard that it deletes the city worldspaces. Verifying the cache should do it.

Aaaand now it's crashing within 2 minutes. Fandabbydoozy.

Edit: After messing around, I have fixed it. No infinite loading screens or crashes and I have been playing for 3 hours. I think it's fixed, and Open Cities is gone.

Do you know what you did that fixed it? And if so, could you put the post as ( SOLVED ) and write in the fix for those that also suffer from this problem?
