every time i start the game (i play in a windowed mode as i dont like playing the game streched on a 24 inch screen), it pops in the top left corner, anyway to force it to start in the mid of the screen?

Try ensuring your native desktop resolution matches your in-game resolution.

So, it is not over-laying properly. Have you reviewed your graphic control panel settings, game profile or the gloval settings if that is what you are using to ensure they match your in-game settings.

Something is obviously not matching. I'd try turning off any overlay s/w like the Steam overlay, any game overlays..evo etc

Cold boot of course cause graphic settings may bork and a cold boot sometimes helps.

If happy with graphic control panel setings might copy the skyrimpref.ini and skyrim.ini to desktop delete them and relaunch.

Others will be along with more familiariity with windowed mode.

Meantime, if you can suffer a lower desktop resolution, you may try matching it to the game. Should work centering the image.

"OneTweak" mod should let you set and play, experiment, with the windowed mode resolution which might help. Also other features worth checking out.

You can set the res you want in your skyrimpref.ini file and change fullscreen to false.

wanted to do this too and I think there is no way, every mod is just forcing borderless fullscreen. Regular fullscreen have less loading times though, windowed mode is much worse.

Yes, there are solutions. I am not familiar with windowed modes but I will request help from some of the gurus. Lemur, please start a separate thread and I will attempt to help.

In any case, as to loading times many have reported much faster times in windowed mode due to resolution/loading times relationship (sometimes with, sometimes without "OneTweak").

Generally, one might state loading times in windowed mode are faster.

OK, took a bit of prodding Cartana to get an answer... When you run Skyrim, after the Bethesda logo goes away and the dragon symbol comes up hit alt-tab. Move the window where you want it and you should switch to the game. When I alt-tabbed while the Bethesda logo was up I got the double cursor bug.

I know how to run the game in a windowed mode, but it starts windowed in the top left corner, and i want it to start windowed in the middle of the screen... like other, newer games.

Also the loading times in windowed mode ARE HIGHER, idk why they just are!

I could not find a way to start it there but doing this will move it there. All I could find after about three hours of research.

I would be surprised if windowed mode is the reason, would be interesting to track down the culprit, if possible. What is the time difference and have you actually timed it.

Dude, this saved me over 3 years later. Just a note for anyone else, you may not have [Display] or either ilocation line in your skyrim.ini, you'll need to manually add it. The skyrim.ini was in my documents file ">my games/skyrim"

Siara , 5 years later and your solution is STILL valid. Used it to center skyrin in center monitor. They are 2560 x 1440 res, so i set X = 2560 and x = 0 and voila! centered, single screen.
