"Forbidden Legend" quest's problem

I did the first step of the quest, asking to retrieve informations about the Gauldur Legend, then the next step asks me to go talk to Daynas Valen. Now, the problem is i actually went on with the story before doing this mission, cleared the Folgunthur dungeon and accidentally killed Daynas before having received the quest. I tried to resurrect him through the console command but it won't work. Is there some other way to resurrect him/go on with the quest either way?

You've got something confused, or another mod is altering the quest. Valen is the dead guy in Folgunther. All you need to do to forward the quest is search his body and read the journal when you take the claw.

He was never alive, I'm not surprised the game would have problems with resurecting him

Oh, nono I guess i was just wrong. Well' i don't know where the notes could be since they're not in his corpse anymore...
When i track the quest in the map it sends me to riverwood, to the trader, could it be i sold the notes and it brings me here for this reason?

The "clue" note was outside Folgunther in one of the tents, the other was on his body. I guess it's possible you sold the journal (unread?) at the riverwood trader. Or its pointing to the book that starts the whole quest line. There's another copy on an adventurers body at Giermonds hall in Invarstead. Alternately you can also just go to Winterhold and join the college. You really only need Valen's journal to update your map markers. It won't keep you from completeing the quest
