Logitech Controller not working?
First off, if your just going to say KEYBOARD AND MOUSE IS SUPORIOR and completely ignore my problem please go elsewhere, I'm using a gaming laptop and sometimes I like to just plop it on my lap and lay back with a controller rather than keyboard/mouse.

ANYWAY

My controller works great for all my controller-supporting games. But as of late, it seems to have stopped working for Skyrim and Watch_Dogs altogether. Both of which the very same controller has worked fine with in the past. My guess with skyrim was I mukked around in the SkyrimPrefs and messed some stuff up. Assuming this was the problem I deleted the file and verified cache, it didn't work. So I reinstalled everything. Twice it didn't work. So I restarted computer, which again, doesn't work. I have also disabled, uninstalled, and deleted any and all mods in efforts to fix this to no avail.

Any suggestions? Thanks.

Are you running it in XInput or DirectInput? Have you tried both?

Not sure what you mean by that?

turn your controller over and there should be a switch there, put it on X, not D. also check in settings to see if controller is on. also try unplugging, then plugging back in again.

in your mydocs/mygames/skyrim/skyrimpref file search for and make it =1
bGamepadEnable

and save.

Thanks you so much! Switching from D to X did it. But now I'm wondering, what exactly does the D and X mean and effect? What is the purpose of the switch? Any idea?

XInput was created around the time of the XBox Controller, hence it's used with most games that have XBox controls built in. DirectInput was built before XInput and most commonly used on older games.

What's nice about having the toggle switch is that if one input doesn't work you can switch to the other and usually have no problems.
