Thanks you so much! Switching from D to X did it. But now I'm wondering, what exactly does the D and X mean and effect? What is the purpose of the switch? Any idea?
XInput was created around the time of the XBox Controller, hence it's used with most games that have XBox controls built in. DirectInput was built before XInput and most commonly used on older games.

What's nice about having the toggle switch is that if one input doesn't work you can switch to the other and usually have no problems.
