legendary mudcrab location?

So back when the legendary thing came out there was a short vid of a massive mudcrab coming out of the ocean, i figured i'd run into it eventually so didnt worry about looking for spoilers etc.

Well i eventually scoured the entire coastlines of Skyim, never found it and eventually forgot about it.

Where is this thing? is it tied to a quest spawn?

every google search just gives a million references to the smaller dead one west of whiterun.

Legendary thing? You mean Update 1.9, which gave us things like mounted combat and Legendary difficulty?

As for the giant mudcrab, there is one dead sitting in a pool on the planes of Whiterun. I can't give you the exact location as I don't remember it, but 15 minutes of running around should unveil its location

It is part of a quest. I cant think of the name of it, but an old man and a young boy are living in a hut. South side of the Rift I think. he gives you 3 legendary beasts to kill.

The giant mudcrab appears where the shell of the dead one is. Just north of the road between Whiterun and Rorikstead. You can see it from the road heading east.

Ooh! I completely forgot about that quest!
The old man with a boy live in a hut in Riften hold, and the quest's name is Mara's Trials or something like that

No not Mara. Quest is Kyne's Sacred Trials
It is not love, it is hunt Kyne to be more accurate.

The boy is from Helgen and the old man is his grandfather.

All I remember about this quest is that the boy's from Helgen and that it revolves around a certain goddess. I edited my post with a link to wiki page about the quest

I am pretty sure there is a mod somewhere if you want it. I used to have a mapping mod that had a giant slaughterfish in lake Illinata.

There was an armour mod (Bouncing Bodices and Booties IIRC), that added a legendary style mudcrab to the northern coast near Solitude, and it dropped some kind of rare chainmail bodice. Dunno if that's what you encountered?
