Enchanted weapons drain way too fast
So I recently started a new playthrough, and have maybe played some 5-10 hours on the new character, and I've discovered that enchanted weapons drain fast. Like crazy fast! With the pale blade or whatever it's called I can get like maybe 10 hits in before I have to recharge it again, and that's with greater and black soul gems. Also, lesser soul gems fill the thing right up to the max for some reason.

I think it probably has something to do with some of my mods. I have wintermyst as well as PerMa, for instance, and for some reason Wintermyst shows up twice in the MCM menu. Maybe this has something to do with it?

Thanks in advance for any replies!

This might be what you need. One of a list of recommended mods that are not covered by USLEEP, it sorts out the issue of fast drains on enchantments. Its a known bug in the game--upon reloading a saved game, your enchanted weapons drain faster than they should. This fixes the issue. Requires SKSE.

The amount of uses you get out of an enchanted weapon depends on the skill with which it was crafted, and the skill you have with the associated casting schools.

You didn't craft the Pale Blade, but that weapon is a "levelled" one. That is to say, the power of the weapon depends on your character level at the time you obtained it. Assuming you hadn't passed level five before then, it'll give you a maximum of 19 uses until such time as you improve your destruction skills somewhat.

Fully charging such a weak weapon indeed only requires one of the weaker soul gems. You can certainly use stronger ones on it, but you'll waste much of the soul's power that way; you can't "overcharge" rubbish weapons.

Aah, so this problem will solve itself once I level up and get better weapons then? I guess it makes sense, but is still kinda unbalanced and ridiculous in my opinion, but oh well, if it goes away as I level up I'll be happy :)
