Not a huge problem ... Verdant is probably the best grass mod out right now.

First question, which mod organizer are you using?

and have you actually made any changes to your ini files already?

These asre my current settings in the Skyrim.ini and are geared to a cross between Verdant and SFO

[Grass]
iGrassCellRadius=2
bAllowCreateGrass=1
bAllowLoadGrass=0
bGrassPointLighting=1
b30GrassVS=0
iMaxGrassTypesPerTexure=7
iMinGrassSize=50

Verdant recommends setting the types per texture at 15 but it makes aeverything a little to "vacant lot weedy" for my taste so I settled for SFO's recomendation of 7

um i installed manually First grass on steroids and unbelievable grass and yea ,And then that didnt work so i downloaded mod organizer and installed Grass on steroids with it, and still no changes and idk what kind of changes to my ini files... uh i have no idea, here is what i added to my ini file randomly

Skyrim.ini

[Grass]
AllowCreateGrass=1
bAllowLoadGrass=0
iMaxGrassTypesPerTexure=10
iMinGrassSize=50
[GeneralWarnings]
SGeneralMasterMismatchWarning=One or more plugins could not find the correct versions of the master files they depend on. Errors may occur during load or game play. Check the "Warnings.txt" file for more information.

And skyrim prefs

[Grass]
b30GrassVS=1
fGrassStartFadeDistance=7000.0000
fGrassMaxStartFadeDistance=7000.0000
fGrassMinStartFadeDistance=0.0000
bAllowLoadGrass=0
bAllowCreateGrass=1
bDrawShaderGrass=1

Yeah you have some settings in the wrong INI ... my prefs.ini are

[Grass]
b30GrassVS=0
fGrassStartFadeDistance=9000.0000
fGrassMaxStartFadeDistance=9000.0000
fGrassMinStartFadeDistance=400.0000

But I think you have other issues with the manual installations from the past, and Also you have to remember that MO is a profile based organizer and you have to edit the INI files using the "Tools" button in MO while in the profile you're editing.

Personally and you're probably not going to like this... I would recommend wiping your current installation and returning everything back to vanilla. (See the links in Ilja's Player spreadsheet thread) Then do your build from scratch using MO.

x.x really m8 Over 200 mods x,x my net is slow to handle dem, i cri evry tiem ,

Isnt there any way to fix it? Like change the ini settings? it dose not matter if i use Mo or Manual,
Rez Jun 10, 2016 @ 8:54am
P.s i just used mod organizer in the past week, and yea my whole time i used manual installation so i dont even know if gos is installed in mod organizer

So might be settings,

Is the ini file correct and wa about prefs?

Have you sorted your load order with LOOT, and did you get any errors?

Edit, The entried I gave should work fine ... post 2 is the Skyrim.INI settings, and post 4 is the Skyrimprefs settings. Switching over to MO was a really good idea, and can keep you from having to redownload /install as you can make changes by copying the profile first. If you have the chance watch Gophers MO videos ... It will make your modded life way better.

Yes i used Loot before and nope no errors at all.
Avrie Jun 10, 2016 @ 9:03am
I'm just afraid you have multiple copies of mods that are editing the same files. run LOOt again and click on the three dots (upper right) copy your load order and post it here.

Unfortunatley I have to run an errand right now... but there's always someone around to help here, and I'll be back in a few hours

Before i do that, we got a lead/clue,

I copied your verdant settings and sfo and turned my GOS and i saw a change to the grass, i walked on whiterun and the grass was more then vanilla and there was grass when going to the tower where you fight your dragon for first time,

the grass wasnt exactly denser as GOS, But there was more grass then vanilla,

So That can be a lead?

If you've just put a random number into iMaxGrassTypesPerTexure, that's your mistake. You need to look at what your grass mod says to use. If your value is lower, the game won't load all the grass types and the result will be less dense than intended, in an unbalanced way since some grass types still get drawn.

Once you set that correctly, adjust the actual density with iMinGrassSize. A larger value will result in more distance between plants. A smaller value will result in more density.

50 is a very dense setting. It's no surprise that turning on all the grass types looks "weedy". The recommended iMinGrassSize for Verdant is 70. I use 80 myself. But if you use a GrassTypes of 7 with Verdant, your results will be unpredictable and will vary by area. Use 15.

Thanks but mine are fine ... after reducing the types I found increasing the density worked just right.

Edit ... you wouldn't know how to make the grass a little shorter would you. I'd go back to 15 and 70 if I could find my kills without having to use ~ TG LOL

This was with types set at 3 ... I still use it for screen shots

You had the above settings before, right? They should be fine for Grass on Steroids. If you want even more density with it, you can try iMinGrassSize=40. Going below that will have little to no visual difference, due to game engine behaviour.

I find that Grass on Steroids isn't as impressive as some of the other grass mods. For me, the two real contenders are Verdant and Unbelievable Grass Two. The latter is a bit more colourful, with more flowers.

Hehe, not really beyond editing the meshes themselves. It's a problem with Verdant, I know! Personally, I find it immersive. If you lose something in tall grass, it's difficult to find IRL too. I often just give up on stuff I lose in the grass unless it's important, and I think that's really cool! Small setbacks can be really enjoyable, like back in Morrowind when you went outside in the morning only to be greeted by an ashstorm, and you go "Eeeeh, I'll just sleep in today."
