Yep. We are not part of Scaninavia, but indeed Fennoscandia. It's the Scaninavian mountain range that makes the main difference.
Skyrim landscape mostly resembles North parts of Scandinavia. It's story ties to both Scandinavian and Finnish mythos.
I have often gazed out across the land, and wondered about the geology/geologic history. Wind and water erosion is just starting, but the cave systems are ancient. Some major catyclismic event thrust the limestone bedrock hundreds of meters high.
Ok thx, even then if they're not PURPOSELY based off real world places, they might still be similar to some places, which is what I'm interested in.
