Arniel's Endeavor
According to UESP, you are supposed hand in the staff to Enthir, he gives you the unwarped gem, then do the whole thing with the Convectors. Return and give
Arniel the warped gem and watch his experiment.
But I'm unable to get further dialouge with neither of them.
I know the gem can get bugged out and you'll end up with several copies, that's not the case. I have reloaded previous saves, but get the same result. I rather not use console commands due to possible screwing up my current game.

Lets first find out if it's a bug or not. How far are you in the Mages College? You can only continue with the quest after the staff once you're Arch-Mage, after "The Eye of Magnus".

Also do you have the Unofficial Patch? I noticed this is your 3rd thread concerning bugs.

There's another step involved. A delivery Arniel is expecting gets delayed, and you have to find a courier. I just did that quest, but my character was the Arch Mage.

I have completed the whole main story questline for the college i.e I am the Archmage etc.
I do not have the unofficial patch, I'm using a bunch of workshop mods and not sure if the patch would mess something up (yes I'm a bit of a noob)

The Unofficial Patch will not mess anything up - but it will prevent things from being messed up. For more information about the Patch and what it does and why, see:
