Who replaces belethor in his shop?

As the title says.
Who replaces belethor as merchant in his shop after he dies, and how long does it take for that person to appear?

According to the wiki[elderscrolls.wikia.com], Ysolda might take over eventually. What eventually means is not clear.

Yeah, I married her just after Belethor met with an "accident". Now the shop sits locked up.

Damn. He was the merchant I went to the most since I could alternate between him and the blacksmith quickly. Now I'll have to go back to Riverwood :/

In my first run Ysolda took over after a while - but I can't remember why Belethor dies - do we kill him as part of a random quest at some point ?

No, he'll only die due to a random event (such as a vampire attack), or by player action.

That sort of thing is why I make everyone essential.

Here's the deal--If you kill Hulda, Ysolda will take over the Bannered Mare. Afterwards, when Belethor dies, the guy who chops wood for all this time, will take over.
