I suspect the scripts involved don't like you "skipping" tiles, so do try to walk through the middle of each as opposed to cutting corners.
Failing all that, you'll likely have to reload a save from before the point where you first crossed over.
You will need the reference ID's of the old man and, if you have one, your follower. You can get that by clicking on them while in the console command. click on the ~ button right below the ESC key then hover over or clikc on the characther. I wrote down the codes and did the following.
Get your player to the gate and enter TCL in console command (the ~ thing), close console, and wak through gate. Once through go into console type in TCL again and hit enter. Next type "Prid XXX" (Where XXX is the NPC's reference ID #. For me the old man was 02018fd0) then hit enter and on next line type "moveto player". Do NOT include the " (quotation marks). Also there must be a space between moveto and player I did this for both my follower and the old man and got them through.
After that I had no farther problems with other bridges. Hopefully that'll help someone else in the future.
