Vahlok's Tomb Problem with Bridge
I used the two claw pieces to open cage where Tharstan reads the next step, something about not being idle as it could cause death. Easy enough I figured it out immediately. I quickly move across the 'bridge' that forms and get across just fine. However when I get across nothing happens. The gate stays shut and the old man can't come across. I looked it up and it said a bridge is supposed to form that the old man can cross and the gate opens up. However that doesn't happen for me. Am I missing something? Did I miss a step?

To my memory, this happened to me and I simply ran back and forth across the bridge until it worked. I think I had to let myself fall off, after which I was able to climb back up to his side and things worked properly from there.

I suspect the scripts involved don't like you "skipping" tiles, so do try to walk through the middle of each as opposed to cutting corners.

Failing all that, you'll likely have to reload a save from before the point where you first crossed over.

Tried all of these things, dropping to water, running quickly, going slowly, going through the center and not at the edges of blocks/corners, tried leaving and re-entering. Even tried a previous save. Any ideas? Anyone else ever have this issue?

Found a work around for the bridge using the console command. Actually a friend did for me. I wanted to share for someone who has some ability but is not super tech savy, kinda like me.

You will need the reference ID's of the old man and, if you have one, your follower. You can get that by clicking on them while in the console command. click on the ~ button right below the ESC key then hover over or clikc on the characther. I wrote down the codes and did the following.

Get your player to the gate and enter TCL in console command (the ~ thing), close console, and wak through gate. Once through go into console type in TCL again and hit enter. Next type "Prid XXX" (Where XXX is the NPC's reference ID #. For me the old man was 02018fd0) then hit enter and on next line type "moveto player". Do NOT include the " (quotation marks). Also there must be a space between moveto and player I did this for both my follower and the old man and got them through.

After that I had no farther problems with other bridges. Hopefully that'll help someone else in the future.
