Bandit Leader has not spawned?
For initial Companions quest I was sent to kill the Bandit Leader at Traitors Post. Went there, killed 3 random Bandits but there is no Leader. Just a Quest Arrow floating where he is supposed to be. Already reloaded an earlier Save with same Outcome. Also, I haven't been to the location before.

Any way to get this through? May waiting for a cell reset help?

This seems odd; Traitor's Post shouldn't be related to any quests, radiant or otherwise... to be clear, this one's Trouble In Skyrim, yes?

Have you looked around the outside of the building for him? I've had enemies fallout and get stuck behind the house.

yes, trouble in skyrim. meanwhile i managed to complete it by rebooting and then loading my last save again. don't know why, but it helped :)

I had the same thing happen just two days ago. He did spawn but on the other side of the wall. If you step around through the window next to the marker he'll turn and attack. I had to go outside to finish him off.
i searched the whole area, he wasn't there. maybe he spawned under the floor. should have TCL'ed to take a look :P

Experiencing the same odd issue at this very moment.
The leader is nowhere to be found. I did clear out the rest of the bandits. Even fast travelled back and forth and he still wont spawn. And my last save is too far back, dont feel like redoing all previous steps from other quests.

This post is rather ancient, but heck even I stumbled upon this discussion while googling for a solution.

Unfortunately there wasn't 1 solution without the use of an actual cheat.

according to various wiki pages the bandits should respawn after five days.. so I waited 14 days total. I first I spend seven days using the wait option over and over, which resulted in nothing.
Then I waited another 7 days by just fast traveling back and forth through skyrim.
And this did not work either, the corpses despawned, but there never were new bandit spawns.
So I ended up using setstage cr05 200.

Unfortunately my laptop's five button is broken so literally couldn't write it down in the console.
Which lead to me learning about executing text files as batch files through the console.

You can literally create simple text files in your skyrim main folder.

insert any codes you want to use.

For example:

setstage cr05 200

save the file and name it.

Run the game, open the console and then simply write,

bat "filename"

press enter

and the code is executed.

This might be handy trick incase you're interested in running multiple lines of codes at once.
This trick or method allows you to execute series of codes instantly or atleast faster compared to manual writing.

I know, it's not related to the topic it self but in case you guys didn't know this either, now you do too :P

looks like a solution: "setstage cr05 200"... but even this didnt help me((((

I found the answer for myself; run "setstage Favor154 15" then return to the Jarl of Falkreath for the reward.
