Athis won't train me but I already joined the Companions?
Hi! For some reason after I joined the companions Athis still won't let me train with him. I am currently playing vanilla Skyrim at the moment, is there anything I am missing? Thanks for the help!

Do you have the required experience to get his training?

Training for one handed lists Athis as an Expert trainer so he trains up to L75 in one handed. However you also need to be over is it at least level 25 to get training from him.

He only trains up to lvl 75 in one-handed.

You need a master level trainer, Cheif Burgurk of Dushnikh Yal is a master one-handed trainer, but you must be blood-kin of him to train. Travel to Dushnikh Yal do the quest he asks of you then you can train up to level 90 in one handed.

this ^
I've never needed trainers for the one-handed skill, or the two-handed skill either, they are so easy to level up. Like-wise for Heavy Armour and Light Armour skills, so easy to level up without trainers.

I save my money for Magic trainers, Blacksmithing Trainers, and Archery Trainers. I also use Alchemy, Pickpocket and Sneak trainers, but not Lockpicking trainers, as that's too easy to level up.

If you have gotten up to One-Handed 78, then you clearly don't need a trainer, you will max it out before long anyhow.

I never use training to increase my skill levels, doesn't feel like you've done any work to achieve it. I know you can't cheat in a single player game, but feels a bit like one. Much prefer the old fashioned method of getting out there and getting my hands dirty.
