Reunification of Skyrim...I'm lost & need to complete



Hi



I would really love anyone's help in this.



I need (mostly to get my Windhelm home, but also just to finish this) to complete the Reunification of Skyrim.



What I KNOW I've done already:

1. sided with imperials...retook/protected whiterun

2. spoke with general tulius in Solitude...and in fact the next quest item shows THAT to be completed,with 'retaking the pale' coming next



Tulius does not tell me exactly where to go...he just says "we will need to oust ulfric from windhelm?





However, I've prior

1. finished battle for whiterun

2. finished Season Unending...I forget exactly which towns I gave to which group in the complex dealings at the table in High Hothrgar

2. finished 'message to whiterun'





Now...I've looked at various elder scrolls & skyrim websites,and know there's a complex lists of camps to visit depending on exact choices made...and I DON"T remember the exact choices,its been a long time since I made those choices,as I've played other quests



I DO Know:-

1. the Pale imperial camp does not exist on my map...and its not west of dawnstar, I've traveld the road a zillion times looking for it,so perhaps that defines what I did in seasons unending?

2. Each time I go to several camps on the http://www.uesp.net/...ation_of_Skyrim' site I cannot meet-up with 'legate rikke' on the 1st several I've tried...other legates are there instead and there dialogue choices do not seem to pertain to this crucial quest



I'm just totally lost



If you could help me to 'pick-up' where I can be in this quest so I can meet with legate rikke at the 'correct' camp I think that would do it...know?

the once I reach the correct camp...and I have no idea which...I think I'll be back-on-track...correct?



I am open-minded to a console code to advance me along...although I'd much prefer to just get to the right camp



Anybody know how?

You have no journal entries? Anything under miscellaneous?

By the way, this is one of the MAJOR Skyrim quests...not a minor or miscellaneous one
The first go-thru the game a year ago it was completed with ease.

But 1 year later,this new game,& I'm hopelessly stuck
Does anyone know the answer?

Surely I have to go to a certain person/npc to start/re-start the correct dialogue,right?

Or does anyone know where to go..?

I honestly haven't played the civil war for quite some time but from what I remember you SHOULD have gotten a map arrow and a journal entry. I suspect something bugged out. You may have to load a save before turning in the prior quest.

I'm curouis about the Pale Imperial Camp not being there. Open the console and type in
coc MilitaryCampPaleImperial
Where do you load in at if all?

In order of replies to my inquiry:

did NOT get a map arrow...if I did I probably wouldn't be writing you guys! :-(
I have no saves remotely that old...like I 1st said,I started this quest awhile ago...but put it off still now

On my 1st playthru the game I also sided with stormcloaks...unfortuanetly,that doesn't help my problem here

As to Blood on the ice

On my quest log I had completed that quest....although never got a jagged crown...I suspect I was one of those unfortuantes who a crucial npc was killed
In any case I did a console command to finish the last stage (a setstage command,after my sqs command for Blood on the ice showed the very last stage wasn't done

That was my ONLY console command this entire playthru of skyrim,by the way

That console setstage command prompted me the quest was done...went to jorleif..no relevant dialogue

went to ulfric too...no relevant dialogue

Now to the crucial part...the advice from 'cfs111'

when I warp to the pale imperial camp I warp to an empty wintry ice hillside...exactly where on the map I was searching for said camp...no camp there

I then moved to Rikke

I was taken to...and this is where I am now,awaiting your next advice...to Rikke at the RIft imperial camp(just wesy of ruins of bthalft'

rikke is there
No relevant dialogue
in fact I get near identical dialogue to every camp I visited thus far
She...and every other legate tells me they want ulfrics head

So how do I get out of this mess I'm in..???

Personally, I think you're SOL. Sorry. Something is majorly wrong with your game.

The issue you had at the end of Blood on the Ice is the catalyst for this. Seems like some triggers were missed. The missing Pale camp is the most worrisome. Do you have any mods? My advice is start a new character for the civil war questline.

I REALLy appreciate all your mental sleuthing

Your plan might have worked...but with my frustration last eve, I tried one thing on my own...just ending the Reunification of Skyrim quest...stage 255 if I recall ?

That did not solve anything

Plus I played up a storm a bunch of other stuff...and I really don't wish to go back-even if it means this is never solved,well so be it.

So with that being said,I did what you said

i did NOT start a new character as i THINk that means starting a new game?
if it does not, I would try that...how does one start a new character without starting a new game?


i DID do the 2 console codes suggested:

startquest CWFortSiegeFort
setstage CWFortSiegeFort 10

For what its worth,that resulted in tons of new verbiage from the legate at the rift imperial camp...but no dialogue that advanced the story

On a lark, i returned to solitude after putting in those console codes to speak to Gen Tulius...now all he says is 'Hmmmn..?"
So it actually removed his prior dialogue.

I am certian you are correct that the genesis of all of this was the screwed up Blood on the Ice quest...which as I think I said at the get-go,was ended by a console code in frustration from a no longer extant save
As I read on the internet,it seems many,many have these 2 quests (blood on ice/reunifcation) corrupted

I would then ask you one final question:-

My genesis of ALL of this was to get a workable home in WIndhelm-Hyjerim

I have the key to Hygerim
I cleaned up the blood
..I did all that before the blood on ice quest bugged out

but the jarl & his steward give me no dialogue to become a thane or buy the home (& thus furnish it

As that was the genesis of all of this,beign where I am,are there ANy codes tha allow me to initiate that dialogue...or to simply furnish my home?

Becuase if THAt was solvable I really don't give a hoot about not finishing Reunification on my own

This may not work as you are an imperial in the civil war. But maybe we can fool the game, be sure to make a backup save...

The 2nd I did it I got prompted to talk with Ulfric
Then he promted me that I was a thane, & speak to Joreif.
And I got mey home & furnsihings & all.
Not to mention the satisfaction of having these quests offically completed

remember your (penultimate) old advice of :-

even though that did not work in initiating a conversation with the legate,I wonder if I then went to the stormcloack fort oON MY OWN,& beat the stormcloaks on my own..?

I wonder if I then returned to Ge. Tulius or the legate whether he/she would have thanked me & sent me on to the NEXT fort to follow,thus picking up REunification quest in the middle..?

Glad that worked.
Worth a try, but the civil war is notoriously buggy. Chances are you will need to console most if not all the way through the questline.
