Is Sild the Warlock supposed to be non-aggressive?
I got into this dungeon by using whirlwhind sprint to reach a door on a raised ledge that otherwise seemed inaccessible. Did I break the sequence of this place by entering this way? I found this Sild fellow, mumbling about trapping adventurers, read the guy's journal in front of him. Clearly he is quite evil, he does not seem to care about my presence however.

Bug?

Yes, I believe his aggression is tied to the opening of that cage by lockpick (which is where you were "supposed" to have fallen). That way, he won't attack you on sight while inside, but can instead cackle about his evil deeds and how he's smarter than you and on and on.
It's just so satisfying putting these ivory tower intellectual mages to the sword as an orcish berserker with the atronach sign. The kill moves and ragdoll physics make it ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ hilarious sometimes.

I just burst into a Dunmer mage named Drelas' home and opened him up balls to brain. Left his carved up carcass sprawled haphazardly over his own dresser.

Morrowind was phenomenal, but you just can't get things like this in that game. Glad I decided to get back on board the TES train lol.
