[HELP: VANILLA] Darkness Returns Nocturnal Glitch :(

So I'm playing 100% vanilla skyrim, and before you ask no I don't want to install the unofficial legendary patch. It seems stupid I know but I want to stay 100% vanilla even if it IS bugfixes. Anwyay, I'm doing the "Darkness Returns" quest and I got to the end of Pilgrim's Path but whenever I try to return the skeleton key to the Ebonmere Nocturnal appears but she won't talk. I try to talk to Karliah and it says "This person is busy". I've tried reloading from earlier saves, waiting 1 to up to 24 hours before going down the well and before inserting the key, I've tried using the 'setstage TG09 60' console command but after I speak to Karliah Gallus shows up and neither of them talk, they just stand there and when I try to talk to either of them it tells me "This person is busy" again. I don't know what to do, please help! :(

Sometimes the stone rubbing you made during Hard Answers can show up at the College of Winterhold after that quest is completed. If it does, and you pick it up, that can lead to this.

If you're really lucky, waiting a few hours might unstick it.

Would it show up in my inventory if I picked it up? If so it isn't there so maybe that isn't the case? D:

I'd expect it to be visible if you collected it - unless you repeated the later stages of the Hard Answers quest (which become available again if you do pick it up), at which point you'd lose it again. You'd still be stuck with the problem, mind you.

I made it thru the Path of the Pilgrim, and got to Nocturne statue...nothing indicating where I should turn in the key, etc...What gives. Is it bugged for the P.C. vrsion...
