One of the two should work. Do cfs' first.
"Erandur is too powerful for calm."
"Erandur is too powerful for fear."
He's basically immune to enchantment apparently.
I actually did have an earlier save file (paranoid about that) but it wasn't recent enough to want to reset so walked out and back in.
First I tried saving and reloading the save, but that didn't work. Still stuck. My solution was to leave Nightcaller Temple then walk back in and that effectively unstuck him. If you are way deeper when he gets stuck it's a bit more annoying, but not impossible.
I just uploaded my solution here for others who made search for a similar bug, especially since console users don't get the commands PC users get.

Switch cells (change location) wait 2 hours in-game, enter console, make sure you've marked the actor, type in movetoplayer and then type in stopcombat. The NPC should be now out of combat.
I exited the Temple and fast traveled to Dawnstar. Rested for 12 hours there and then fast traveled back to the Temple. When I reentered, Erandur was not hostile to me and I was able to talk with him and complete the quest.
Did not have to mess with any console commands and those above didn't work for me.
