Told serana to wait, now she has vanished [Resolved]
Hi, I've been travelling with Serana for a while and I wanted to move freely so I told her to wait for me. I did the action in the Lakeview Manor, but everytime I come back, she's not here. Not in the cellar, not in the tower, or whatsoever. Should I try a command to make her appear (if such a thing exist) ?
Thanks

Are you still doing Dawnguard quests? Have you finished Harkon? She may be back at Fort Dawnguard if all that questline is finished.

If you are still working it, then progressing further will cause her to appear.

To be honest I don't remember, I haven't played in quite a while. But as I don't have anything in my journal talking about that, I assume I already finished the quest.

try fort dawnguard....she usually is there if you lose her.

Followers won't wait forever. If you leave them alone too long, they'll automatically leave your service and return to where ever it is they'd normally go if you dismissed them. For Serana, that's either of the two castles (depending on which faction you chose).

If you really can't find her, the console can be used to snap yourself to her location:

player.moveto xx002B74

... where "xx" is Dawnguard's formID. To get that, drop any Dawnguard related item into the world, then target it with the console - whatever the first two characters of its ID are, are the ones you should use for Serana.

If you're not interested in where she was hiding and simply want to bring her to you, do:

prid xx002B74 moveto player

Thanks for your help. She just went back to Castle Volkihar, I guess I went a bit too long for her.

Followers are people too, you know! Would you wait for your companion to come back after a week, or would you go home after 2-3 days?

I'm not waiting 2-3 days for some lummox in a pointy hat who does nothing but use me as a shield and make me carry stuff. Has until sundown. Tops. Then I'm sending a search party and going home.
