After playing Oblivion again, I think the armor and weapons in Skyrim all look terrible

So, this is an opinionated post. But I've come to a point where I've realized I've always hated the armor and weapon aesthetics in this game. Especially the Ebony category. The Ebony sword doesn't look like a sword at all, but like a pickaxe and a sickle got drunk and made a baby together, resulting in the abomination Bethesda gave us for an Ebony Sword.

The Ebony group looks so more realistic and majestic in Oblivion compared to Skyrim.

All this ranting aside, does anyone know of a mod or something that replaces the vanilla look of the weapons and armor in Skyrim?

Weapons in general look's really bad in all ES, indeed. Now Armos, there's some few really good in my opinion. Anyway, that's why we have a bunch of good Weapons for that category.

The swords in Oblivion look like LARP plastic toys, althought that's a problem in Skyrim as well.

The most glaring issue, however, would be the Oblivion glass armor. Can you really say that this lump of radioactive waste is aesthetically pleasant?

BTW, bumbing Alex's recomendation for Insanity Ebony Replacer. Really Dope, the only problem it's the 2H, it's TOO big, but if you use some mods like ECM or have some knowledge with xEdit you can solve this. Now replacer idk, but some mods for more options have a fews well know: Immersive Weapons and Armos and JaySuS Swords.

Thanks for that. Also, when I wrote this, I totally forgot about the Glass Armor look. LOL definitely looks like a piece of radioactive plastic or something. Mithrill was a nice touch though.

Oblivion glass helmet is the worst looking thing in all of tes. Yes even mutilated sotha sil in morrowind looks more visually appealing

Currently replaying Oblivion for nostalgia and the worst armour ever is the both glass and the daedric, although the latter is more about the colour than the design.

Oblivion has slightly better weapons in some aspects and worse in others.

All in all both games fail in both areas in some part or other, and succeed in others.

The weapons yes, mostly, Ebony and Glass weapons for example look much better in Oblivion.... Daedric and Steel weapons look better in Skyrim though, as does Dwemer Weaons.

But the idea that the ARMOUR looks better in Oblivion...... not a chance.... Ebony Armour in Skyrim is much better, as is Glass armour.... although you could argue it's Dwemer Armour with Glass features... Steel and Iron Armour is better in Skyrim, as is Orcish..... can't recall Dwemer Armour. The only Armour that Oblivion had that looked better was the Dragon Armour, and that wasn't really Dragon armour.
