Can't Transform into Vampire Lord

In the Bloodline quest after waking up Harkon asks you to turn into a Vampire Lord which I cannot do. Selecting the power and pressing "Z" to activate it makes the sound as though the character tried using a shout that was on cooldown. The unofficial patches do not fix this (it actually says that the patch will not fix this problem in the FAQ) and I can't find a console command that will fix it. Please help if you can as this is a game breaking bug.

fyi joining the vampire side isnt worth it. Dawnguard side you get serana kissing you on the neck and the best ranged weapon in the game. I dont use the unoffical patches cause of all problems that some people seem to have with it. Sure the patch may work on some people's pcs but not all.

Dawnguard is the better side only because if you join either, even if you get cured/infected will continue sending troops after you. And having 3 Dawnguard on your ass every time you fast travel while they use armor peircing crossbows hurts like a ♥♥♥♥♥!

I'm looking for actual fixes please. If you have any helpful input I'd love to hear it, not opinions based on the questline. As I said before, this is a game breaking bug that should be fixed regardless of which side you join. Thank you.

As Arthmoor said, the glitch is locked inside the excecutable. Modders can't go there, so there is very little we can do about it.

It isn't a definite or permanent bug, so loading a previous save might help. That is annoying, I know, but bug is rare enough not to render the game unplayable.

Open up the console command and type: "set dlc1vampirelorddisallow to 0"
Of course, do this without the quotation marks.
Worked perfectly for me!

That would clear orphaned scripts and clutter, but it will not fix in-game bugs.

Peoples use that tool too much. It should be used to clear junk data from mod files that have became obsolete. Using it for other purposes is not recommended.

Furthermore, peoples should not remove mods from the ongoing game any way. Skyrim stores script data to save files. No tool can clean them from there 100%. Even Bethesda could not do it for their own game.

Using SKSE configuration file will safely remove obsolete entries over time, so reasons to use script cleaner are very rare.

I fully understand that this has nothing to do with the original problem and that this thread has been necroed. If I was going to post something, then I decided it would be best to post something relevant, when Script Cleaner got brought up.

I'm having the same issue.
can't turn into the vampirelord despite seeing the power in my Q menu.
This happened right after I couldn't transform OUT of it and then forced it using setrace khajiit (original race).
This is a seriously over-bugged game... how is this not fixed ten years after release?! (slight exaggeration, but c'mon!)

I know it's been a while but, somebody found something? I bought Skyrim vr on PC and try everything to be vampire lord and i'm stuck in the middle of my transformation, can't go further. Guest Bethesda abandon the project. Somebody have a clue? I have tried "set dlc1vampirelorddisallow to 0" - tried earlier savegame - tried to start a new one - etc...

Hello I have the same problem. Playing SE on PC. I was trying to get the vampire perk achievement and now I won't be able to because i can't transform into vampire lord. The console command doesn't work. I also got stuck in the middle of my transformation, had to use player.setrace to fix it, but i still can't transform into vampire lord... I've tried many combinations of curing vampirism with falion, drinking hakron's blood, and console commands
