Skyrim's Ending Discussion [spoilers]

OH. MY. GOD.

I can't believe I invested 300 hours into this game to realize the ending for Skyrim is WORSE than that of Mass Effect 3 (50 hours invested)


Half the internet b!tches and cries about Mass Effect 3's ending but everything was quiet about Skyrim so, being a fan of the Elder Scrolls series, I thought I wasnt going to be underwhelmed.


What the funk.

Yes, Sovngarde is awesome looking. Yes, I felt like I could just stay there in the great mead hall forever and chat with all the other heroes.

Yes, the forest/valley covered full of volumetric fog was nice (why wasnt this a thing in Skyrim's regular forests?)


but the final fight with Alduin was so underwhelming like oh my god. I was level 57 dual wielding dragonbone and daedric sword and took me less than 15 seconds to bring Alduin's health down to 0 after engaging in close combat with him...you know, dual wielding flurry of blows etc.

Then he screamed, and vanished amidst some special effects. Got my back patted by the bystanders and sent back to the throat of the world, then there was a fairly moving scene with the dragons departing, and thats funking it.

Wow.

I guess those 20 vigorous and 30 ultimate health potions I had been storing in my 600 inventory was all for nothing.

I played on Adept, aka the mode where you deal 1.0x damage and the enemy deals 1.0x damage...anything harder and its just artificial cap on your damage and artificial multiplier on enemy damage, so I thought Adept would be fair and fun...

oh fricking well.

Btw. Mass Effect 3 has an awesome (extended) ending.

"played on adept" there you have it, >< ttry doing the very same scene again on a Much harder setting and you may need those potions after all

There is a mod that changes the damage and health of dragons. they say you should level up before even attempting the first dragon. Like deadly dragons or something like that. Might interest you.

Deadly Dragons on Insane and Dragon Combat Overhaul will solve all your dragon fighting problems.

You're talking about the main quest in a TES game.

You're implying that ME3's ending is better than anything shy of ebola.

do agree the ending is kinda lame but mass effect 3 you pick how you want to die one you become energy being 2 become a god and die or kill the badies and die on station as it crashes to earth.

Who plays on Adept?
Master or Legendary. And some mods that makes it harder, then you need more potions then you had :)
And I have more then 600 hours and still no ending :P

Guys, don't bother with him. He didn't come here to do anything that pick a fight with people over ME3--with it's fricking awesome extended cut ending. Whatever, I'm not gonna debate the ending of a completely different game here. I'm not even going to point out how the games are driven by completely different things or how you're comparing the *final boss's gameplay* of Skyrim to the *narrative climax* of Mass Effect 3.

I also play on adept I mean do you find it believable that a sword in the hands of any foe does 2x the damage then you can do? there are better way to balance it then crank up the difficulty .... As for the topic itself well there is a mod out there that alters the ending however ... from what I read its a prepare to cry edition.

(Note, that I have never personally tested this mod, so this goes more to humor from my part. However, mod seems to be playable.)
