Activating whitecaps?
After "visiting" Knifepoint Ridge bandit camp (stumbled over it), and seeing what looked like some old Nord ruins a bit onwards, I discovered the sepulchre that is part of the thieve's guild quest (not started on that storyline yet and so, lacking the skeleton key, cannot enter). In between, in the forest, there is what looks like a necromancer's site, but marked out on the ground (no altar as is usual) - with some bloody bones and a skull, a staff, a book, a glass arrow and all ringed with whitecap mushrroms. Rather than being able to pick them, one should "activate" the whitecaps (works as picking them, though - and that gives no effect). That sort of corroborates the thought that here is the basis for a spell present... but what initiates this? Is there a quest leading to it? Or is this just stuff for the picking? Anybody know; come across this?

Yes... I know that... but normally, when you come across the various plants and mushrooms, you are not told that they should be "activated..." and that is the case in this place. A bit weird. I'm thinkng this may be part of a questline that I have not entered, and I'd not want to just collect the things there in place in case I muck up a possibility for later adventure! Ah, well... it goes against the grain to just leave a staff there on the ground, especially since I haven't come across that variety before (in many hours of playing)!

This one, maybe?[www.uesp.net]

There is another fairy ring to the north[srmap.uesp.net] but neither appear to be part of any grand design - they're just two of many random acts of prettiness dotted across the landscape by whomever was responsible for such things.

AYe - that may very well be!
Thank you! I shall go visit Froki and see whether that will lead me back to this site.
The other one in the vicinity of Bilegulch Mine? I'll look for it!

Best wishes for good hunting!

Thanks for that map link! I've been looking for a good searchable Skyrim map.
