Why can't the Dragonborn have babies?

That would be New Vegas and Bethesda didn't make it. Obsidion did and they are generally much better game devs.

Even if they did implement it, would you really have the endurance to wait 9 months till it is born? And then another 36 months till it can begin to walk? I prefer adoption.

The other reason is Bethesda would have to implement non-human children as not every player is human. Elven children, khajit, Orcs, Argonians, . From what I hear Bethesda were very lazy/short of time when they added children to Skyrim, they simply ported over from Fallout. Facial details are nearly identical.

Because if sex and pregnancy was allowed within the game it would obviously get banned in almost every country. Besides, why do you want sex and having babies in a fantasy action game?
