Svana isn't exactly innocent either, is she?

She keeps talking about aunt Haelga's bad morality, but I really don't know if she acts any better... she just tries harder to show an innocent facade to others.

Haelga sleeps with many men, right?

Well, Svana was "the other woman" of Sibbi Black-Briar, the reason why Sibbi's bride "Lynly" ran to hiding, and the reason why her brother died. Even when Sibbi sits in jail I'm pretty sure that Svana knows exactly what happened, and still she blathers about how Sibbi loves her and they were meant to be.

While Haelga may be shameless, at least she has caused no deaths that I'm aware of. In one way or the other, I'm thinking "pot calling the kettle black" for both sides.

Neither is innocent, but which side would you be on?

I don't think Svana was aware of the fact that Lynly was engaged to Sibbi. It's possible she was in the dark on that in my opinion.

But was she aware that Sibbi was engaged? With Black-Briar family being famous in Riften, I don't think it's exactly a secret to the locals.

It's possible, but I don't really think so. She may have believed he was engaged to somebody he didn't love, another woman whose marriage to Sibbi was arranged by her parents and his too. It might be possible that she thinks Sibbi only has eyes for her because he truly does love her in her mind. Whatever the case, Svana is infatuated with Sibbi; whether they're really in love or not is hard to say since Sibbi may just be a womanizer who wants a harem of women as his wives.

I find it hard to believe that Sibbi would be actually in love with anyone. If the dragonborn is a female, you'll notice that he'll immediately tries to hit pick her up when she approaches.

He did think that Lynly was somewhat exceptional before the incident happened, and mainly talked about Svana as just "a relationship".
