I'm a NORD MAN damn it!
My super manly nord character looks intimidating, fights bravely but sounds like a girl! When ever he does his power attack or gets hurt I hear these woman grunts. It really ruins my experience with the game, I'm not gonna stop playing, it is so damn annoying! I looked online and the forums I found were written and forgoten about ages ago, I guess everyone ignored the issue? If anyone knows a mod or something to help me fix this, I would greatly appreciate. At the very least my character sounds like a young boy who hasn't dropped a pair yet.

Are you using any mods? ... and what is your load-order?

Well Niksan, what age do you think most of the developers of this game is?
That might explain why your character (and mine for that matter) sound terribly young. (somewhere in their 20's and not yet fully developed mature males).
Granted, they should sound like body builders on steroids and excessive testosterone.

Bet you're a puny nerd in real life though.

I'm only using 2 mods and they are from the Steam workshop. Parth Dilemma mod and Daedra Meanice mod or something like that but the problem was present before I downloaded those two, or any other mod for that matter.

Ok so this works? I don't have any unofficial patches so would this still work? Would I be able to change the voice without reseting my character skills or anything like that, is there any dangers?

Thanks

I don't see any reference to patches in mod's page, but why don't you have Unofficial Patches? USKP is spreading as a dependency for other mods. Patches fix horde of bugs - including potentially game breaking bug, like sudden inabilty to devour dragon souls (Official Dragonborn DLC) - and are vey much recommended. I see no reason for you to play without them.

Release notes can be found behind this link (List of Issues fixed). Links to download sites are also there.

Well thanks for the links! I was going to download the unofficial patch but I didn't want to risk dowloading a ton of viruses from a random website. Thanks for the help.

Couple of questions:

If I download the unofficial patch... would I have to start my character again or will he be safe. I also used console commands to fix some of the quests bugs so any consequences there?

For the mod you listed, when I tried downloading it, I was told that I need to download SkyUI. And to download SkyUI I need to download some other crap. I was wondering if that is what I need to do or can I skip that. I really like how the original interface is but if it is a must then I'll do it.

Installing Unofficial Patches should be safe. There have been few complaints about them, but all of them seem to have related to inability to maintain the proper load order, troubled egos, misunderstandings or personal grudges against members of Unofficial Patch team. There are no active or passive bugs around Unofficial Patches in my notes, so I consider them safe to get installed during on going game.

That said, Skyrim is Skyrim. Bethesda left a lot of bugs to this game. You can write the cleanest code you know, but something may still pop up and do 180kg beer belly dance in front of your face. Make a backup from your saves, just in case.

Pay attention to load order. It is very important with Skyrim and especially with Unofficial Patches. They need to loaded correctly, or scripts will have different hierarchy than intented and bug fixes will become a bug parade.

If you are using only few mods, then you can arrange the load order manually from NMM or Skyrim Launcher Data Files view. I am using LOOT to keep my load order in check. I am using 170+ ESPs and ESMs, so letting wrong scripts go in to wrong hierarchy really isn't an option. I link the tool here, in case you need it.

SKSE and SkyUI are really not crap. Most of us are using them.

* Skyrim Script Extender (SKSE) does what it says and etends the amount of script library available for Skyrim. It has also included stability fixes to be enabled and most other memory fix and game stability solutions are counting on it.

SKSE
http://skse.silverlock.org/

* SkyUI is an interface mod that requires extended script library to work. While many see it just as polished UI, it has 3 major features.

- MCM is a mod configuration menu feature included to SkyUI. I allows you to access to in-game mod configuration menu, instead of dropping out of the game and manually fixinig each and ever INI-file for required configurations. Some larger mods - Frostfall, Realistic Needs and Disease, Wet and Cold (full) - go several pages deep. The mod I suggested has a configuration menu for voice sets.

- Item sets. Vanilla game does not recognize item and weapon sets. SkyUI has allows another full series of hotkeys, enabling item sets and even dual-wielding hotkeys. Previously you had to manage left hand individually. Now you can use SkyUI hotkeys to go from dual-wielding spells directly to dual-wielding swords, or from two-handed sword directly to sword and shield.

- Interface itself. SkyUI enables several mods that would be very clunky or lacking features with vanilla UI. Most popular of them is the RaceMenu[www.nexusmods.com] mod, allowing you to mod your characters with features impossible without SKSE and SkyUI.
