You should do radiant extra jobs for Delvin and Vex, to open special missions in all cities - except in Riften. Each city requires 5 completed jobs for special mission to open. Missions are handled by Delvin.
Keep in mind, that you are now playing as a thief. Do not rush to complete this jobs like a robot, or you will loose a lot of fun from the game. While you only need 5 completed jobs / city, the guild actually benefits (mostly visually, but still) up to 125 completed jobs.
Take your time. Complete these jobs while you are in the neighborhood and remember to have fun. :)
Ok which mission is it because I'm a bit confused? Sorry I'm new to this.
Basically the thieves guild effectively has two questlines. The main strand which come through Brynjolf. The other line is rebuilding the thieves guild from Delvin & Vex. They give out radiant quests of a few different types in Whiterun, Windhelm, Markarth & Solitude. You need to do 25 different jobs in all of those Holds. Unfortunatly they are randomised but there is a mod which fixes that called localised thieves guild jobs. Once you have done five different jobs in a hold Delvin will give you a special job in that hold.
Fixes?
There is nothing to be fixed.
I don't think that Skyrim is a game where you should complete all missions in linear order, like a robot, that does know how to enjoy for what is happening around. Running immeditaly after each radiant job from different guilds is the worst thing you can do to your gaming experience.
Just let them pile up. Once you are - at the moment - done with one hold, move to another and start to complete your radiant jobs in there. Take your time. Sell stuff, buy stuff, craft stuff and repair (if you have the mod) stuff. Pick up new quests. Complete what you already had. Get sidetracked. Gather ingredients and resources found from that area. Once you are done with this hold - at the moment - start moving in to next one.
Or you could just use carriage or simply fast travel trough cities and towsn, and later post a topic about "Is this all there was? Why is my experience from Skyrim so empty?"
Answer would be: "Because you 'fixed' it to be bland and empty, ran after radiant jobs and didn't stop to enjoy the game." ;)
I am playing the game with Frostfall and moving mostly on foot. I like to play in Skyrim, not just Skyrim. It is much more fun and rewarding this way.
You posted for me - I was going to say that :D
I don't think many people have as much time to play as some of us reprobates do. Only yesterday I was reading an argument which was won by the poster that had "god like knowledge" of which game was, indeed, best because they'd invested almost 100 hours in each - so there! Huh - hardly scratching the surface if you ask me. :-)
100 hours!
What an astonishing amount of hours.
My experiense is... oh, only 995 hours.
That is way too much... and I am still starting another playtrough today. :D
Yes, you can. There is one last stage in your membership that can't be completed without finishing those.
That is also one of the reason I suggested that players should not hurry too much to complete them. Some things are better when they feel like they were earned...
I finally came back to the Thieves guild as a high-level character after finishing off a lot of other quest lines, which is probably the strangest part of it. If I had to start over, I might do this one first.
