Archery is a Thief Stone Skill
Its the only fighting skill not listed under the Warrior Stone. SkyWiki says they don'y know if Bethesda did this on purpose or not. I am thinking they did. Something about a sneak + two handed hammer character dosen't add up :P

It's called retroactive continuity. The birthsigns changed to the skill stones just as Mysticism forever disappeared.

What about us honorable characters? Honest warriors that do not sneak or hide?

Archery can also be practiced out in the open. Not every archer is a thief.

Balance: 6 skills for each stone.

Like grathagis say: balance. An other way to see that:
Warrior: everything that's need strength, endurance
Theif: everything that's need dexterity, agility
Mage: everything that's need intelligence
(I know, there is no stats on skyrim but you know what I mean)

The lover stone is good enough for an armored archer and stuff like that anyways...

There is a mod on Steam Workshop that allows you to get all standing stone powers.

I think that the unofficial patch moves archery to the warrior stone so that all combat skills are boosted by it.

V1.2.
"Archery is in the wrong guardian stone perk. It has been moved to the Warrior Stone perk bringing it in line with the Oghma Infinium and Bards College rewards, as well as the official game strategy guide. (Bug #2335)"

Actually, there are 6 thief skills already without archery (sneak, lockpicking, pickpocket, speech, alchemy, light armor), unless one of those have been moved to the warrior stone instead. But without archery, there is no offensive thief skill.

You are right. Those are the 6 basic stealth skills. In my guidebook archery is listed under combat.

Archery+sneak might actually be the most powerful thing in the game. It's hard to say it should be exclusive to either stone.

I think archery is just fine in Warrior stone, considering the experience the skill gets from stealthy character's weapon usage.

Warrior might get +20% more experinece for the skill, but thief is likely to use that skill more than 20+ (%), when compared to warrior skill usage.

All you got to do is find the Lover Stone and it doesn't matter how you want to play at that point.

Yeah and then apply that Lover Stone to the Aetherial Crown so you can receive the 15% bonus to all skills from that stone while wearing the crown in combination with any of the 3 guardian stones to increase your skill bonuses by 35%.

Then remove the crown before sleeping to get an additional 10-15% bonus for a maximum 45% bonus to all skills.

Lover's stone bonus does not stack with the Lover's comfort bonus.

I know that, but you still get a 45% max bonus. You don't get 50% because you don't get that last 5% bonus from being married while using the Lover Stone.

I also should have stated that you receive a 45% bonus to all skills under the current guardian stone, as the skills not a part of your current guardian stone will only receive a max 25% bonus after sleeping. The 15% lover stone bonus + 10% sleeping bonus. This is only possible with the aetherial crown.
