Where do i get Quicksilver?
I opened the Elven Smithing ability, and i need Quicksilver (among other things) to craft it.
I found all the components i need except quicksilver, at least in whiterun, the vendors just
seem to lack this type or ore. So... Where do i find some?

There are mines containing it, and there are also ore deposits scattered around the land that contain it. Also, some places you loot will have some of the bars just lying around...not very many though.

You can spoiler yourself if you're in desperate need for some...

Try the other merchants and blacksmiths in Skyrim. Or wait 2 days for a inventory reset.

Try going to other minor cities and check the blacksmiths , weapon traders and general goods traders for some.

I bought Quicksilver Ore from Adrianne on Tirdas.

There is a quicksilver mine at Dawnstar, and blacksmiths also have a few ingots to sell sometimes. It should be enough, as you only need one for weapons, and two for gilded armor (with tempering). It is easier to run out of moonstone, so always buy it (including ores) when available. For glass smithing later, there is a malachite mine at Kynesgrove.

Stuff he sells is randomized, revisit him after a few days. Also, are you at least level 18 ?
There are also a couple of mods out there which allow you to smelt weapons and armor into their base components. Reverse Smithing is one and it is also part of the complete crafting overhaul.
