Aela İS DEAD !

Please note, this command is either buggy or changed in Skyrim and may not work as documented here. One can also try the "recycleactor" command with the NPC selected. (Either by the Prid command or by selecting with the mouse.)
As stated in the wiki. Aela is also a quest giver, so if there are problems she might not give any more quests.

Couldn't you search for "Aela" in the console and input, "player.placeatme xxxxxx"?
I've done this and dialogue and whatnot worked, not sure about quests...
(And then drag the dead one's body to the pool next to the steps of Dragonsreach)

Make sure to save before doing this, though.

Placeatme makes a copy of an existing character. You don't want to do that. You end up with 2 of them.

I know that. But could you not hide old Aela's body or disable it through console (heard bad things about that method though)?

Placeatme clones aren't the same as the original. They can act very differently from the dead one.
