Can you come up with hyphenated nord names for Nordic clans?
I want to start a new game with a Nord character and I have found a name for his clan: "Ice-Meister".
What do you think of "Ice-Meister"? Does it sound cool? Stupid? lore-friendly or not?

Can you come up with other, similar clan names as well (such as Battle-born, Gray mane etc)?

Kuhms-In-Corpses?? I suppose that would be more for a Necromancy Nord Clan, or even the name of an Argonian Necromancer. Strictly for sh*ts and giggles. Not lore-friendly at all.

In fact I LOVE IT. Not for a clan, but an individual member of a clan could bear this name! Thank you.

I don't think Tamriel (or Nirn) has a germanic language to acquire Meister from.

From what I have observed most of the clan names have a martial bent "Shatter-Shield" "Battle-Born" and the rest are down to an inherited trait "Grey-Mane".

You would be best imitating those themes, especially if it includes a weapon in it like "Sword-Breaker" or "Blood-Eyes"
(the last would be down to drinking so often your eyes are always blood shot, the drinking would have to be a family weakness though)

Ok then, what about Will-breaker? It doesnt contain a weapon but sound martial. And what would be the plural form of the family, Will-breakers? The will-breaker clan? How does it sound?

Also (in plural form):
Ice-storms
cold-hearts (or ice-hearts or frozen-hearts..?)
war-bloods?
ice-swords?
heart-skinners? (Those who literally skin you alive?)
Axe-bringer/bearer...?
Ice-Masters (instead of Meister)
Golden-kills?

When deciding a nordic name, keep in mind the last name should give Nordic vibes like - Snowblood, Snowblade, Stormblood, Stormblade, Stonearm, Dragonblood etc

Not really, it can be an animal (fire-bear) or it can be a life status (battle-born). What about
war-bred or battle-bred?

Also, some new ideas:

pride-borns
war-born
iron-born
strong-born
bold-born
battle-bears

As for uniqueness, I take a look at this page https://en.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:Nord_Names#Clan_Names_and_Titles

If the name you come up with do not exist in this page, then it is unique. Ice-storm, will-breaker , iron/strong/bold born, and names that end with "bred" are all unique.

Cold-hearts sounds good, as does Ice-Swords, Axe-Bringers could work too.

Ice-Storms wouldn't work, because you get them (aka Blizzards) in Tundra, it would be like having Heavy Rain as a surname.
War-Bloods sounds over dramatic, it would probably start a fight every time you introduced yourself. Same for Heart-Skinners
Golden-Kills doesn't work, because the term "Golden Kill" is extremely recent.

Ice-Masters could work, if you had a clan of wizards, but not for a clan of warriors.

Edit. Will-breakers would probably work, especially if a few of them are judges...

"Heart-Skinner" sounds like a group of Argonian bandits.

Thanks. How you feel of Battle-bred? (or war-bred?)

Cold-hears is unfortunately not unique. There are npcs with this name in one ES game :O

Maybe I'm overthinking this, but Battle-Born sort of works as a name that invokes a positive view of combat; it makes me think of someone who truly came into their own on the battlefield, someone who was a nobody but in their first fight turned into a hero, was "born" in honorable combat. But using "Bred" makes me think of, like, war dogs. Like a clan that is just a sycophantic servant clan of some bloodline of Jarls, churning out cannon-fodder by design. It seems very negative or cynical to me. Like bred FOR war/battle versus being metaphorically born IN battle.

Storm-Bringer, Death-Dealer, Elf-Stomper/Slayer, Hammer-Hand, Stone-Fist.

You are right. Although the word breed is also used for humans too (e.g. "Rural life is too much for city-bred Jenny", or "Londoner born and bred") I agree that it is somehow connected to animals.

The way I see it, bred has to do with how you grow up, e.g. a Battle-bred is the one who was trained for battle his whole life. This is slightly different from "born".
