By then, either all the cool mods will have been switched over to 64 bit of there will be detailed instructions on how to recompile em, and we might have some crazy stuff to play with that would make the old version ♥♥♥♥ itself and die from the complexity.
That or not enough people will give a crap lol. That's possible too. I pretty sure Chesko's gonna support it tho, and consoles too. I think I read somethin about a stripped-down Frostfall.
Be aware though that you're not going to get a bunch of mods in three days. If there are mods you absolutely cannot play without, then don't bother.
As for me, I'll check it out, and update my own mods (if updating tools are available). And then I'll come back around Christmas and do a fresh vanilla playthough. Because I haven't done a vanilla playthrough in at least two years.
I just tried a vanilla play through this week as a sort of practice run without SkyUI etc..
It was ♥♥♥♥♥♥ awful - lol. Playing without Timing is Everything made me realise just how bad the DLC is incorporated into the base game.
By level 10 not only did I have Dragons, DB assassins, Afflicted whotsits, Hired Thugs ( well, perhaps I shouldn't have stolen that book ) coming after me but already Master Vampires and Cultists were out in force. If no guards were nearby for me to kite them to I was as good as dead and had to resort to sprinting into the nearest water etc.. At level 11 I decided to drop the difficulty to Apprentice when the last Vampire attack resulted in FIVE dead Whiterun guards.
The DLC cuts in far too early to be enjoyable and - before anyone starts - the only skills I'd developed were Bow, Sword and Board, and a little smithing ( no paid training ). Hmm.. This is going to be a tough challenge, but then I love a good challenge. Roll on Friday!
As to the OP. You can start now and have fun playing the game and in a few days you can then play the remaster. You might be able to port the character over or just start a new one and keep the other character on the 32 bit version of the game. Both versions are considered separate games.
Not worth playing and then losing progress if you decide you want to play the new version.
