Complete Alchemy and Cooking Overhaul: where or how do I get a scalpel and blood extractor ?

The mod description only tells you need them, but not where to get them. I have checked alchemists, but they don't seem to sell them. The mod is working because the console shows the items are in the game. Leveled lists also works because the other items like retorts and mortar+pestles from that mod are sold by merchants.

Maybe check the blacksmith or a magician

I have visited crypts, mage lairs, vampire lairs, talked to a few Jarls mages, checked the smithy to be able to craft them, and blacksmiths. so far : zilch

The blood extractor is from the quest to unlock the ogrima infinium. The crazy dude in the cave northwest of the mages college gives you one.

The scalpel might be part of the murder quest in winterhold.

Those are not the items I am referring to. The CACO Mod adds 2 tools: a scalpel and a blood extractor for use with alchemy.

Have you tried forging them, they might be craftable, not sure under what mind you, but always worth having a look.

The scalpel can be found in Nordic ruins, if you pick one up and it doesn't say [tool]scalpel then drop it and pick it back up. Blood extractors must be bought from alchemists.

Well at least now I have a more certain way where to look. I found a scalpel and dropped it. That seemed to work. I just hate to run all over the place to find one specific item. I am still looking for a Torchbug Lantern from Wearable Lanterns as well, so that should keep me busy.
