Evil character: Should I kill Paarthurnax and side with the Blades or spare him?
I always have a hard time deciding, and end up sparing him.

However this time I've decided to play an evil character (Dark Bortherhood, Thief, Vampire).

Obviously as an evil character it would be common sense to kill him, but it just isn't that simple.

I know there are mods out there to spare him and side with the blades but I don't wanna do that.

What should I do?!

Why is it not that simple?

In my game I have not killed him, yes I'm playing a good character, I'm thinking that he's something like a paladin (Redguard). I just didn't like the idea of killing him so I decided just to forget about Blades.

Next info if you were playing Oblivion In this game Blades were really good IMO, it was not that bad organization, again IMO, but in Skyrim, thanks to Delphine, I have got not very good impressions about them, maybe mostly about her, that's the reason why I decided not killing Paarthurnax

I, personally, think that you are right that, again

... but, again my question "Why is it not that simple" for you?

I, personally, don't see a problem, if you realy decided to play evil character then my simple advice - kill him, I quess you got me (how kindly I am, lol kinda).

The decision doesn't matter.

They're all a bunch of colored pixels in a fake world anyway.

An evil character wouldn't side with humans. An evil character would side with the thalmor and kill the blades. Dragons are neutral after Alduin is defeated. They become the force of nature they have always been before Alduin got drunk with power.

Contradiction by the way. If Dragons are neutral after Alduin is defeated then there's no reason to kill Paarthurnax and Blades, in this situation, probably are bad ones. Why did they even ask your character to do that!? o_0

EDIT: Yeah, forgot something, that Paarthurnax was helping Alduin in his crimes, that's the reason. Anyway, very kindly of Blades! IMO.

Yes, you are evil so kill him, since that dragon is so nice and helped you in your quest, a good char would spare him.

Spare him since you are evil and he helps you increase your dark powers (shouts). Also all the blades give is a damage reduction vs dragons buff.

just kill him AND the blades.

I kill him on a regular playthough, whether I am 'evil' or not. I also spare him sometimes. It doesnt really matter.

It seems that so many people think they can play this only one time. Play it 100 times and do it 50 times one way, and 50 another.

Um, nobody knows what dragons were before Alduin got drunk with power, the myths are unreliable and vague, and nobody actually recorded anything at the time.

As for killing Parthurnax, for an EVIL character it's easy, which option gives him/her more. Do you get more power and influence from restoring the blades, or from the support of the greybeards. Answer that, and you know what to do.
