[SOLVED] Creation Kit STILL won't launch

This is getting ridiculous.

I have Steam installed simply on C. I have verified the integrity of the tool cache multiple times and reinstalled multiple times. I have scoured the internet and found nothing. When I try to run the tool via Steam, it simply says "Running..." for a split-second on the list of installed tools, and then it stops.

When I go to the Skyrim folder and try to run the tool from there, I get this error message:

"The procedure entry point SteamUCG could not be located in the dynamic link library" and then it points to the Creation Kit exe I just clicked. Not a missing DLL, just literally the thing I clicked.

Someone please help me. I'm going nuts.

having Beth's stuff on the same drive as Windows isn't the best as the UAC interfears with the game,that aside you could look at these lines in the Creation kit ini file
bAllowMultipleMasterFiles=1

SResourceArchiveList2=Skyrim - Shaders.bsa, Update.bsa, Hearthfire.bsa, Dawnguard.bsa, Dragonborn.bsa

if they're not there just add them in

Thanks a bunch for the tip. Sadly it didn't work. Those things were definitely not in the .ini file, so I'm glad I added them. Still the same issue though.

I have it in a nice write-friendly folder and I have UAC running the exe as well as Steam as an administrator. Would that negate the UAC interference?

Yeah, I have, thanks. My problem isn't covered by those. I've made a mod before, too. Creation Kit has stopped working for me since I last installed it. The stuff in those threads and the info there is either about making mods, installing it, or an error where it crashes. Mine won't even start.

try deleting steam_api.dll and verifying the game cache for Skyrim (from Nexus forums)

This may be the most BIZARRE fix I have ever seen. For some reason, simply exiting family view made the CK start and function.

WTF. That's like not being able to figure out why your car is starting, and then it starts when you put up the sun visors.

Ok so I am a newbie at this creation kit and I'm having the same issue you had. It wont load for more than 2 seconds then just gone. I see this thread and none of it helped me. (Not sure what family view is.
Somebody please help me😖

At the top of the client, do you see a little icon with two silhouettes in it? Is it red or green? If it's red, you're out of Family View; if it's green, you're in.
