Should I become Werewolf?
Doing the Companions story line and have learnt they want me to become a Werewolf.
I was going to do it, but I just cured myself of being a Vampire. I found that the bloodthirsty vampire stuff was way to annoying and just stressful, as it made it hard to complete random quests. I don't want to go through all that again.
Do the werewolves have a similar system?
Thanks for any help!

It is easier with being a werewolf as people cannot tell that you are one. so you can live in any town or city. It is also one of the fast ways of travelling around Skyrim. Faster than most horses.

Just be ware; in Beast form everyone will attack you. ... Still, if you want to be a werewolf; you really should get Moonlight Tales and maybe the unlimited werewolf transformation mod.

Also if you care about the Lore; by being a werewolf you've promised your soul to Hiccane; who is the daedric prince of the hunt so when you die you'll spend all enternity in his realm, which is an endless maze full of beasts to hunt or be hunted. ... Some people consider it hell; others heaven so take your pick.

For fast traveling it's okay, however without mods the combat is just plain :shit: at expert difficulty and above. No armor, no enchantments with any kind of magic resist, no high damage. I have been one shotted by lvl 10 bandit archers while i was lvl 100+ on legendary. The benefits don't outweigh the downsides. I mean, you can't even pick up items.

Not if you cure yourself.

And by the end of Dragonborn, you're pretty much aligned with Hermeus Mora

werewolfs aren't feared. only when you are transformed into one they will attack on sight. but if u are in ur human form they act like ususal. + i think werewolfs are better cause they are fast and are so easy to knock people of the feet. while vampires focus more on magic

There's no drawback becoming a werewolf. But you do gain disease immunity even in human form.

So, you never have to actually shape shift. And still no more brain rot/ataxia/bone breaker/whatsoever.

Well, naturally; if you cure yourself you aren't a werewolf anymore. However I'm not sure I buy the theory that the Dragonborn is pledged to HM just because she killed his last champeon. After all by that logic the mere fact that she weilded Dawnbreaker has pledged her soul as well.

Regardless; to me it sounds like H still gets first dibs on a werewolf's soul with the possible exception of the "temporary" service as a Nightingale.

There is something said along the lines of you being in his pocket after HM helps you get Miraak and provides you with power.

Yeah; but then again something similar is also said when you pick up dwanbreaker; although admittedly in that case the Dragonborn can tell the Prince no; to which the Prince says that the Dragonborn's consent doesn't really matter.

So like I said; I didn't read that line as the Drqagonborn being forced to sell her soul to HM.

If you must be aligned with a deadra, HM is the best choice. But you're probably safe anyway, having Akatosh blessing and all. And seeing how nothing would really prevent one from taking Talos route.

Eh, most of the Princes have two sides and one person's hell is another's heaven.

I did enjoy HM most, to be honest. Hes also fair. Knowledge for power and reciprocacity.

Well all of the Princes are "fair" provided that you understand that as a mortal you are playing by their rules. HM's deal just seems to be the "best" because its really hard for a game to protray the downside; which is the erosion of your sanity by exposure to truths that a mortal mind isn't able to fully comprehend.
