Upgrade Skyrim Original (not special edition) to anniversary
Hi everyone,

I would like to play the anniversary edition, however I have only installed the original Skyrim with the Dawnguard DLC installed. I haven´t played for many years. Should I first do an upgrade to the special edition, and then another upgrade to the anniversary edition? Or just forget about my "old" version and buy the anniversary edition right away`?

Thank you and cheers,

lead

Special Edition got Anniversary Update for free, which included few free DLCs.
Anniversary Edition itself is a DLC, including about all creations released on date.

This means that there is only Special Edition. AE is not special version of it, but DLC that you can buy for it.

Thanks for your quick reply. So I am going to buy the Special Edition first.

As Ilja said Anniversary Edition is a DLC, and only available for Special Edition.

If you do not own Special Edition you can can buy a bundle that includes the Anniversary Edition as well, it's slightly cheaper than buying it separately.

Anyway, getting SE it a good Idea, it comes with all the DLC so you can play through Dragonborn and Hearthfire as well, and the Anniversary DLC adds a ton more content as well.

£43 for a game i already own. Microsoft, Bethesda pull out their nipple wee milk drinkers all suckle from it.
Never bought Hearthfire so never got the free upgrade to SE and i refuse to pay stupid some of money to buy the game with only slight engine improvements.

Just so you know SE is on sale quite often so no it's not stupid and Hearthfire is actually worth it. All it is is building houses and it's not hard to figure out

Check out https://isthereanydeal.com from time to time, have seen Skyrim SE as low as £15 and even lower from time to time.
I still play LE, so do not want to upgrade or play Anniversary, but the link given is great for finding the best deals on any game.

you know you don't have to have the AE DLC I play SE and I don't have the AE DLC and if it upgrades there is a downgrade patch to fix the broken mods and it does work I have that patch and my game works fine which I did post earlier in this thread
