Mod won't install (A problem occured during install (NMM))
Trying to get XP23 Maximun Skeleton. I installed it just fine in the past on my desktop but it just won't work on my laptop. Other mods seem to download fine. I've tried turning off real time protection and running NMM as admin. Any ideas?

Mod organizer?

XP32 Maximum Skeleton - XPMS by xp32 - https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/26800/?
is outdated. You should use:
XP32 Maximum Skeleton Extended - XPMSE by Groovtama - https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/68000/?

As to NMM, I have nearly 700 mods, and no problems. That being said, Mod organizer is a highly recommended program, though the initial learning curve is steeper; see:
Mod Organizer by Tannin - https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/1334/?
It should be pointed out, however, that MO is no longer being supported, as the author - Tannin - has been hired by Nexus and is currently developing their new manager, called Vortex.

Also, you should read:
Player spreadsheet - Player and Modding Resources by Ilja http://steamcommunity.com/app/72850/discussions/0/594821545176386165/
VERY IMPORTANT if you wish to successfully mod your game

As to problems with install, it can sometimes be caused by the file getting corrupted in the download. If you encounter that problem with the install, try downloading the mod again,

Mod Organizer is an alternative to the Nexus Mod Manager, its highly popular with those who run mods consistantly. The basic idea is based on seperating mods from the core skyrim folders. this means that your installation files remain pure and untouched by mod installed, but the mods you install instead install into a folder inside Mod Organiser that allows MO itself to connect the mods with your skyrim when you initiate the game.... But if that wall of text is a poor description, there is a large assortment of guides and tutorials on youtube if you wish to know more about Mod Organiser.
This is true, but the latest verwion of NMM also uses a virtual file system, so that the core files also remain unchanged - just as they do when using MO. The main difference now is with setting up profiles - MO's system is far superior to NMM's profile system (which is the real reason to be using MO).

How do you figure? As far as I'm aware, leveled lists still work the same as they did 6 years ago, and they still need to be merged to see all changes to them.

Re: Wrye Bash (from Player Spreadsheet http://steamcommunity.com/app/72850/discussions/0/594821545176386165/ )

"5.3. Wrye Bash
Wrye Bash (WB) is a mod managing tool, but it is most often used to create a Bashed Patch for Skyrim. Patch is important, because Skyrim does not merge levelled lists from mods on it's own. This means that mod content in your game is missing or poorly managed, if you did not create a Bashed Patch for your game.

Wrye Bash comes with an installer. This executable should find your Skyrim folder automatically, when ran. If this does not happen, then use it's own browser to locate your ...SteamApps/common/Skyrim folder and run the installer.

The issue might related to the file size. For example, the mod "Leyenda Skin" (Skyrim SE) is only ~800mb in 7z file, but it is actually 8gb when extrated. My solution is to extract this 7z file, then re-compressed it via Winrar. It worked perfectly.
