showquesttargets - shows all quest ids
getstage (questid) - shows quest stage for quest id chosen.
Farkas is the one who asks if you want to help him with some trouble, which starts "Trouble in Skyrim".
You might already know all this but thought it worthwhile anyway.
Other members can give you quests after you've done enough sidequests for Farkas and Aela, but that's only after you've done the ones for Farkas and Aela....
I realise I've said those two names a lot....... because it's them you need to speak to...
Yes, and I've said I've talked to EVERYONE. Farkas and Aela don't have dialogue for work when I talk to them..
It looks as if there's a part of an old quest that didn't complete and you'll have to use a console command to finish it:

It's not advisable to use console commands as a matter of course, but if the UESP wiki advises it it's usually ok.
