Mouse mod?
I decided to reinstall Skyrim after who knows how many years away. I remember the mouse control being horrible back then and am glad to see it functions better in game now. However my issue is with the cursor in menus as it feels incredibly floaty. Are there any recommended mods that help with the mouse issue? I'm pretty shocked that after all this time its STILL like that.

I was going to consider getting some of the dlc's but I'm hesitant to put more money towards a game that hasnt fixed one of the most basic issues in the game. I also refuse to use a controller for a couple reasons. First, I hate controllers for anything other than racing/sports games and secondly, I have a wrist issue and gripping the controller becomes a problem after a bit.

Also, I dont have the special edition. Is that something I should look into (buying the game AGAIN) for technical improvements or is that just graphical enhancements?

A few old ways to fix the "floaty" feeling.

Disabling mouse smoothing/acceleration

Go to your Steam Directory -> steamapps -> common -> skyrim -> Skyrim
Create a backup of the SkyrimPrefs.ini file
Open the file, then scroll down to where it says [Controls] and find MouseAcceleration=1
Change to bMouseAcceleration=0
Save, exit, and play

Disabling Vsync

Go to your Steam Directory -> steamapps -> common -> skyrim -> Skyrim
Create a backup of the SkyrimPrefs.ini file
Open the file, then scroll down to where it says [Display]
Add to the bottom of the section iPresentInterval=0
Save, exit, and play

Other solutions out there, try googling a little more. It took only 5 minutes to find them for you.

There is Better Dialogue Controls. It only affects the speech menus though. It fixes the issue where the game selects the wrong option because which option is selected with the keyboard is different from what is selected with the mouse.

For the item menus, the only overhaul I know is SkyUI, though it doesn't actually affect the controls to my knowledge. Either way, honestly, its a requirement for quite a lot of mods, so you're going to be forced to install it whether you like it or not sooner or later. If it really bothers you, there IS a mod that reverts the inventory system to the vanilla system if you have SkyUI installed. I used it for quite a while myself.

Open Skyrim.ini which is in your Documents\My Games\Skyrim folder.

Place the setting below under the [Display] setting:

bLockFramerate=0

And change iPresentInterval to 0 and bMouseAcceleration (SkyrimPrefs.ini) to 0 as well. That should fix the issue you're having.

Warning: doing so will uncap fps and the game might get buggy at times, I recommend downloading Guru3D RTSS Rivatuner Statistics Server to lock your fps at 60.
