are you running Skyrim or Skyrim SE. ? you have 2 games in your Library.

Is it installed? If so, click on 'play'.

As for 'signs' of SE, Im not sure what you mean. It is the same game. It starts the same, with the same story, etc.
Yeah, that's what i've heard.. it's the same game.. i've bought all the DLC's and that should make Special Edition free.. it's not a different game.. it's the same saves, right? There was a short download thursday i think? not really sure if it's installed.. haven't noticed really.. But is it suppose to appear as an DLC file? i've got 4 files for the moment.. Dawnguard, Dragonborn, Skyrim high reselution pack and Hearthfire.. those files who have been out for some time now.

No. It is a completely stand-alone game. Old saves have to be transferred and only work if mods were not used

It is not an update to the existig game, it is a seperate entry in your library. You may be sorting by only installed, and not all games.

How do people like this even operate a PC in the first place? Wow.

How to get Skyrim Special Edition or "SSE" or "Skyrim SE", go into steam store, search for Skyrim Special Edition, now if you see something like "you already own this game", click on the button there to play, like you want to play thru steam, installation should begin if you have Skyrim and ALL DLCs into your library already ONLY, if you have just a few DLCs and not ALL OF THEM, then you cant download, remember to DOWNLOAD and INSTALL EVERYTHING FROM STEAM related to Skyrim before try to use and/or download Skyrim Special Edition, worked for me.

So... what if instead of play it shows a price?

Then I'm guessing you don't own it, and you need to buy it.

Then you need to buy it. The only DLC you own is Hearthfire, you would need all of them to have gotten it for free.

Haha @alexander_dougherty, so the issue is not having 2 of the DLC, which come to $40, same price as the new version. So buy new, or buy the 2 DLC... I would think the DLC as a collector of games. Any reason to buy the new game instead of the DLC.

Thank you for taking the extra step to look at my game collection!

Complex.

New game is 64 bit, so should be more stable. It should be better for modding and a number of other small issues. But new issues will come up, and take time to solve.

Old game however works mostly, majority of the bugs have solutions, and mods work (or will when nexus gets back up).

My personal advice would be to wait for the Special Edition to get some updates and see what bugs are revealed.

I was thinking of getting the DLC and getting the Special Edition for free (vs. buying the Special Edition Directly). I would then play the Special Edition (the purchased DLC just become part of my game collection).

And yes, I don't have time to play out the Special Edition right now, so I have the luxury (sp?) of waiting until at least the first non hotfix patch.
Thanks for your help guys, preciate it! :)
