[Resolved]All the black books missing /PLEASE HELP/

After being on break from Skyrim for a few months, I decided to play again, so I logged in, properly saved my previous character (i mostly use quicksave) and added a new save with a new character. Been playing the new char for like a week now and decied to reload the previous stronger character (lvl 56, the one i saved before reating a new one) to check how many black books i had (I got into a discusson related to that and I'm pretty sure I had six) but when I logged in, I couldn't find them in my inventory.
I checked all my houses and chests but since they're quest items, they can't be removed anyway.
So I'm kinda freaking out why are all my black books missing? Can anyone help me?

Between playing the old character and the new one, did you add or remove any mods?

I haven't added anymods in the meanwhile

And, yes :) Dragonborn is active

Edit: Checked an even earlyer save for my man charceter (from like june) and there I still have the black books

Resolved it on my own. Apparelty in the meanwhile I have been to Cidhna mine (not realted to the escaping quest, but just because i got caught stealing) and it doesn't have a bed so I escaped by clipping myself though a wall. Got everyhting from the chest, but since the books are quest items (and i noticed i was missing some other quest items), they weren't there and i didn't get them back. So I went to Markath, stole somehing, wen back to prison and served my time there (by minig silver).

TL:DR If quest items are missing and you've ever been to cidhna mine prison in Markath, then get caught and serve your time there.

For the sake of saving others some time, its an easier fix than getting arrested all over again. Simply pick the chest at the jail called "Prisoner Belongings Chest" even if it says empty. This will restore the missing items.
