Mod Organizer wont write to my SkyrimPrefs.ini file?? **FIXED**
I have recently gotten back into modding skyrim, i decided to do a clean slate, uninstalled all my mods and skyrim and mod organizer, since i had to re-learn everything. but Im running in to trouble, skyrim keeps opening in windowed mode (even vanilla skyrim). Im trying to figure out why its doing that, but the internet has proven to be not much help. Also, in mod organizer, everytime i try to edit my SkyrimPrefs.ini, i get an error message stating it cannot write to my c drive, thus being unable to edit the file at all. does anyone have an explanation?? ive been trying to figure this out for 2 days now.

*****FIXED*******

I found another file under c:\users\[myusername]\documents\mygames\skyrim

there are seperate Skyrim.ini and SkyrimPrefs.ini files there. I made sure they werent read-only, edited them accordingly, and it worked. thank you everyone for trying to help

try to run mo as administrator, windows adds protection to default c instal dir....
better to install competely elsewhere.
other way, just edit the ini manually.

unfortunately i have tried all of those options. if i go into skyrimlauncher, and it loads up the title screen, i go to options, and windowed mode is checked. i uncheck it, change my resolution, and click ok. if i go back into options after i do this process, its changed back to windowed mode. i went into skyrimprefs.ini and edited that, that doesnt change. but the game wont listen to the ini file
its getting quite frustrating. ive never dealt with something like this before
ive uninstalled and reinstalled skyrim and the mod organizer 2 times each now. nothing seems to work

MO doesn't edit the main Skyrim inis. It has it's own ini files that it edits so the main ones stay original, just in case you need them.

Sounds like something set them to read only

I have made sure all the ini files arent read only. but for some reason, windowed mode keeps happening, even when i edit vanilla skyrimprefs.ini, and options

bFull Screen=1
iSize H=1080
iSize W=1920

This is in my skyrim dir, under SkyrimPrefs.ini. but when I load up the game using skyrimlauncher, i go to options, and windowed mode is checked, my resolution is not 1080x1920 as well...

when i try to change the options at the screen, and click ok, that also does not work, it just reverts as soon as i leave that screen.
