Playing a thief... use "Market Stall"
Starting a new game and playing a thief was never fun in Skyrim because you just can't sell your stuff until very much later.
Yes, of course, you can smelt stuff (with mods?) or buy stuff with the stolen money.

But if you want to be a real thief... forget it.

But: there is Your Market Stall[www.nexusmods.com], a Nexus mod which allows you to sell stuff.

And I just tested it, you can sell stolen stuff.
A guard just bought a stolen flower, another guy bought a stolen axe.

This is NOT for people who want to optimize their playtime and look for shortcuts.

This is only useful for people who want to roleplay a thief (or a smith or alchemist or an adventurer or whatever) because this takes a lot of time, but it is fun.

Me, I use it to create weapons and armor and sell them and get real money for them.
I would get more money in the same time in a lot of different ways, but this is such a good feeling: Selling a created and modified weapons for a lot of gold coins.

(Beware: enchantments are not calculated into the price of the sold wares I think)

Yeah I can imagine this is fun, in Oblivion I used a mod that lets you run your own shop in Chorrol. :)

I know I promised you not to suggest any more mods haha, but this one is just a small SKSE plugin you can add to your game at any time:

Better Stealing[www.nexusmods.com]

It removes the stolen tag from any item below the value of 500 septims (which you can change in the .ini file that comes with it). It might not be needed if you sell everything in your stall, but it does solve the odd feature of everyone being able to tell those mundane cheap items are stolen when they all look the same. For me personally at least that would make selling those stolen items at the market feel better. ;)

*Presses hands on his ears*
I can't hear you! Can't hear you!

I do not know about this mod, I will not install it, I don't know, DON'T KNOW!

You are an evil person! Just so you know! ;)
