Real life comparisons to TES races?
Saw this and thought it was pretty interesting
Don't know about the Altmer being Imperial China. I always thought they were Greeks.

What do you guys think of Real Life Comparisons to TES races?

Yeah, not going to watch it, every race has multiple inspirations, and the result bears no resemblence to reality, watch a vid make tortured comparisons is not my cup of tea.

Orcs are arabs; They worship the god of 'peace' the chiefs have a harem, no rights for women except getting a ticket into that harem, incest everywhere and they're as smart as a skeever

They also literally see themselves as the chosen ones as well and view all others as inferior beings.

Imperials to some extent have Greco-Roman influences, such as their naming conventions, their culture, their military and their history - in particular uniting Tamriel only to see it break apart, much like the Roman Empire. Redguards have obvious Arabian influences - their attire, their choice of weapons, and magical practices - in particular, considering Conjuration magic to be taboo. Nords have heavy Nordic influences and in particular Norwegian and Scandinavian - they've got the whole Viking aesthetic going for them. Bretons have some French influences - their naming practices, culture and proclivities towards science and mysticism - but considering Bretons are an actual ethnic group IRL that are descended from Celts I wouldn't be surprised if there was some of that mixed in as well. And Akaviri, of course, have East Asian and in particular Japanese influences - the whole reason Imperials wound up with katanas, tantos and wakizashis was because of the Akaviri.

That ♥♥♥♥ is why Wizards of the Coast is phasing out "evil races" in Dungeons and Dragons. Just let games be games and stop trying to make everything political, FFS.
