Skryim has failed to Allocate memory...
Anyone getting this error? I just started the process of modding, and I've gotten this. It was more severe with previous attempts at modding. I basically wiped everything, and tried again. It happened again, not sure why.. Thoughts?

First off what are you doing when this is happening? Are you downloading mods from the workshop, launching the game? also when does this happen? and lastly does it say Memory, or Hard Drive space?

I'm using NMM to organize the mods. First time I had the error, always the same spot/time in the game. I removed a bunch of mods, and it had seem to clear up.. THough, it only took longer. I decided at this point to start all over again. Last time it happened was just when the screen was idle, and it does that spinning thing around your character..

Memory, I have more than enough drive space. I'm on a fairly new PC..

Try This: Safety Load by kapaer It's an actual mod that helps with your load order and memory allocation - it may or may not work for you, but it's at least worth a try.

Copy & paste this into your browser and download the latest version - good luck hope it works for you.

Are you using any ENB shader mods, like Realvision or TrueVision? these types of mods draw heavily on both VRAM and/or system memory, you should have 8GB of DDR3 for heavy graphics mods just in case.

Also is your game crashing/not responding?

Also since this didn't start until you started modding try deactivating your mods, launch the game, if the issue no longer persists, then start re-activating your mods one by one, launching your game after each mod is activated, once you run into the issue again the last mod you activated should be the culprit, then look up the comments section for that mod on the mods Nexus page.

Thanks for the ideas. I am running 16GB of ram, so, I'm thinking it's okay on that front. Generally what happens is the screen goes black, and crashes to desktop. I have Crash Fixes fron NMM, and that is generating the report for me, unfortunately, what it recommends doesn't help..

SKSE with proper .ini and ENBoost?

It doesn't matter. The original Skyrim is a 32 bit program, it can only make use of a maximum of 4 GB of RAM, when using a 64 bit OS. About 3.5 with a 32 bit OS. That's why the Special Edition went 64 bit, there's is no such limitation with that architecture except for the memory cap in Windows itself.

skyrim is a 32-bit program (even though it came out in 2011) and does not deal well with a large number of mods particularly the script and resource heavy ones.

Can you show us what your load order looks like?

I'm not using ENB Boost as I wasn't a 100% on how to install it properly. As to the SKSE ini, I am pretty sure I have it set up properly.

First one is the mods I have on my machine. The second is the actual error. I've had it before but with a variety of different numbers.

So, in regards to mods causing a memory shortage, how do some folks run up to 200+ mods on a PC??

Should I be using ENB Boost?

Thanks for the help!

It all depends on the mod, not all of them eat up your RAM. It it's just some sort of weapon or armour mod or texture replacer, then it's not going to have as big of an impact as something that has a lot of scripts running.

ENB Boost would probably be a good idea. For your Load Order I'd also be using LOOT if you're not already - get it here:

hope this helps you

Or better yet, get the Special Edition. With a 64 bit architecture, there are no RAM limits other than what exists in Windows itself.

Thanks for the links. I do use LOOT, so, as far as I know, my load order is okay. I'll look into ENB Boost, and see how to configure it correctly.

I do have SE edition as well, but, alas, just the selection of mods for Skyrim is just nice. So many, I really wanted to make this game 'my' RPG. From game over hauls, to simpply better texture for monsters and characters.

I wonder if some background task is causing this issue.. Hrm..
