Skyrim Special Edition flickering visual glitch! Need help!
I'm getting that odd visual bug where there are grey, flickering patches all over characters and parts of the landscape. Most people fix this by going into their Nvidia control panel and selecting the "Use high performance processor" option to make sure the game uses their gpu and not their integrated graphics. The game is detecting the right GPU (GTX 960) as my integrated graphics are disabled in my bios. The launcher even auto detects-ultra settings for the game but the bug still persists. I've tried everything from reinstalling the game to reisntalling my Graphics card and all the drivers but I haven't found a fix. Please help.

Rule of Thumb: Vsync (Verticle Refresh) set to always ON and FPS not to exceed 60. The game physics go wild if not. Sound default 24 bit 48KHz stereo and if Realtek then "Loudness Equalisation" on. If monitor is 120-144Hz then set it to 60Hz or adaptive refresh rate or some such from GPU utility program. If you can't then "FPS Limiter" from Nexus will do the trick. http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/34/?

My monitor refresh rate is always set to 60 FPS becasue the origninal Skyrim had issues when it was any higher. That hasn't seemed to fix the issue either. Also my the vsync is enable in my SkyrimPrefs.ini. I even forced it through the Nvidia control panel to no avail. My monitor has gsync disable so that's not the culprit either,

No luck there. Tried each setting and completely disable; none of the options fix the problem

When I turn my shadow quality down it goes away but only if godrays are enabled. If I put the shadow quality on ultra godrays on ultra the effect is back. I'm lost at this point.

Seriously, go ask over in the forum for THAT GAME. Nobody here can help you. SE has A LOT of problems right now, so there might not be a fix at all. Regardless, you are in the wrong place asking for help. SE is completely different from OG in FAR too many ways graphically, so fixes ARE NOT going to be universal.

Maybe go for a balance...settings that look good but are still within the range that your gpu can handle.

My Dude! I had the same issues and I fixed it! So I changed my NVIDIA "prefered graphics processor" to HIGH performance. I changed my skyrim option to TAA, and downloaded the "FPS booster mod" which decreases the resolution of rain, snow and leaf particles to improve performance. This resolved the issue for me and the game still looks amazing and the frame rate is incredibly smooth I hope this works for you as well!!!

Sadly I don't have the "Preferred graphics processer option in my NVIDIA control panel". I imagine it's because I don't have an integrated card. Thanks for the help though.

I found a fix that worked for me. Launch the game, the window pops up with options. Play, options, support and exit. Click the options button another window will pop up. The section that gives you the option to select low, medium, hight or ultra there is also a button to reset. Click reset and then click ok. Hope this works
